Iowa State Numbers
My d thought about 360 started out at ISU; she isn't sure about numbers that may have dropped-- wish the greek system could get a little boost there!! Does anyone know the numbers at Mizzou?
ETA: Based on ISU Kappa's note below- then GOOD- hope they keep the boost going!!

Wow, that's impressive! Last year I think there were only about 300 signed up to go through recruitment. According to the Iowa State Greek Statistics page only 225 joined through Formal Recruitment last year (that doesn't say how many started the process, though...)

Hello,
Since you are in Kansas do you have any news about results at Wichita State? There are not many GLOs there, but today was bid day. If you have any numbers could you post them, please?
Thanks.

I heard that quota was 69 at OU. Not sure who matched what. I know Alpha Phi - in their first formal recruitment since returning to OU- matched quota ++ (but since I am not 100% sure of the quota addition number I won't post)
YEAH!

Aphigal, I am not surprised Alpha Phi did well--their chapter website did a great job of talking about the benefits of participating in a recolonization effort, they really presented Alpha Phi in a wonderful way, and that house!! Wow.

We have 13 sororities here. We are in the middle of 1st invites right now. 8 rounds today of philanthropy. Open house (which was on Sunday and Monday) started out with about 780 girls. About 60 dropped, which leaves us with around 710-720. (I'm not sure on the actual number).
For open house round, my chapter had a 99.4% return rate, with only TWO girls who did not place us in their top 8! Panhellenic made us cut our invite list down a lot because of this, but we are very excited to have such an astounding return rate for open house!!

Another update from KU. Today, the girls went to max 5 houses (out of 13) and the chapters put on skits and did house tours. The women are on lunch break right now. There were 2 rounds before lunch, and there will be 3 rounds this afternoon.
After 1st invites, my chapter had a 96% return rate, with less than 10 girls cutting us out of the 350 some that we had back. So, needless to say we are absolutely thrilled about our turnout so far this week!
The AGD's at KU are using the Delta Chi house for their recruitment. The past year they occupied the old Sigma Nu house (a chapter that got kicked off campus the prior year), but the Sigma Nu's are back this year, and the AGD's are without a house again. This is most of the fraternity boy's first week back, and the Delta Chi's are still living in the house, they are just not allowed on the first floor, but I guess they are having issues with boys drinking on upper balcony's and yelling stuff at PNM's. So, hopefully those girls aren't having too hard of a time keeping the PNM's attention.

Oh good! Hopefully the rain will have passed through by the time Pref parties start. And, that means it won't be Godawful hot tomorrow.
I can't believe 10 years ago, I was going through my own recruitment at Iowa State!

oldrusheenowmom, I hope that your daughter is having a great recruitment.
Those numbers are definitely up from where they've been for the last few years. Hopefully quota will be in the low 20s. It hasn't been over 20 in quite a while.
ISUKappa, I can't believe that it's been 10 years since I went through recruitment either - one of my best friends and I were just talking about it on Sunday!
I feel for the Alpha Chi Omega chapter, what a horrible thing to happen. And I agree that it's most likely because the Theta chapter is pretty closeby. Also our chapter has cold air dorms, so the majority of Thetas could sleep in cold airs and free up a lot of day beds in the bedrooms for Alpha Chi Omega members to sleep in, unless they wanted to sleep in the living room/tv rooms.
