I did hear some general comments but have yet to see anything official. As such, I prefer not to post *hearsay*. I have a few friends back in Lexington that are somewhat active with their chapters so I'm hoping to hear from them soon with official numbers. However, it may take a while. One is currently on vacation while the other, well, let's just say she can be as slow as molasses on a frosty winter morning when it comes to replying to emails. There are a few other UK folk here of Greek Chat. Hopefully, they will be able to report something soon.

Water Parties are this Sunday, August 26, 2007 at Ole Miss. The parties begin at 2 P.M. They are just an open house style party with no decorations at all, no nothing. Both the PNMs and Actives wear a shirt that Panhellenic has designated for them. The parties go by quick. It's basically a way for PNMs to see each house and maybe meet a new active or two. Then on September 26, 2007, the first round of philanthropy parties begin.
ETA: I heard there are about 780 PNMs registered so far. They have until Sept. 7, 2007 to register....

With the registration deadline after the Water Parties this Sunday, I'm guessing the first round (philanthropy) parties are open and not invite?

Yes the first round is open. They do break the PNMs into groups but no names are called out or anything like when the actives run out to pick them up to bring them inside. If a PNM has not signed up yet and didn't attend this round today, they are not penalized. It's basically just a way for the PNMs to see each house without decorations and stuff!

I thought it was pretty interesting that at the University of Arkansas, they are now providing PNMs with 3 recruitment t-shirts - one to wear each round. The PNM only wears her own outfit for prefs.
