I am extremely impressed with how you're looking at all the groups. A lot of your friends were in Kenny - and yet you knew it was not the right fit for you. You've honed in on the smallest group when a lot of times PNMs won't give a smaller group a second glance. Congrats to you for following your heart...and best of luck - here's hoping you get your first choice!

So tonight was... interesting.

I went back to Sugarland and Tim McGraw... and absolutely LOVED them both. Sugarland has an amazing sisterhood with lots of opportunities to get involved because they are so small. Tim McGraw on the hand, is great because there are so many sisters and I know that there are girls that I'll fit in great with. I still wonder if some of them are being kind of fake, but I guess that's part of recruitment.

Sugarland had another slideshow, but this one went through and showed big/lil's, the different pledge classes, and seniors in detail... most of the members cried, and so did I! It really made me see why the sisters love their group so much! It really made me want to be a part of it.

Then I went to Tim McGraw and their ceremony was so personal and meaningful to me... it totally changed my thinking after leaving Sugarland. At this point I was really confused. I loved Sugarland for the exact reason that they were so small and close... but not as big on a national level. After seeing Tim McGraw, I totally changed my mind. My group in both rooms was pretty much the same 8 girls with me... I think one or two might have been different in the second room, so either way most of the girls who will be my pledge sisters are going to be the same... and I really like them all.

When we went back and sat with our Rho Chi's to rank, I couldn't help but notice that many of the girls who attended Sugarland and Tim McGraw ranked Sugarland 2nd. Many of them mentioned size as a big factor. For some reason I felt really bad for those girls though... they worked so hard and they really seemed like nice girls... after thinking about and talking with my amazing PX, I decided that I really want to be part of that close-knit sisterhood that they have. Although they are the smallest group by far, I like that they really know each other and I'm okay with the idea that my pledge class might not be the 15 or 16 that the other groups have... so with that in mind, I ranked them:

Sugarland
Tim McGraw

I know that being in a smaller group has advantages and disadvantages, but I feel that those are the girls I really clicked with the best. Although, if I were to end up at Tim McGraw, I think I'll be okay there too... so I'm just going with that saying that everything happens for a reason and everyone ends up where they belong...

Tomorrow between noon and 3pm we can go and pick up our bids... I'm so nervous!!!

I'm glad you had agood time at both houses, I can't wiat ot see where you end up.

As a member of one of the smaller NPCs, I can say while sometimes it might get frustrating, it's amazing to see what you can pull off as a small group...and of course it's great that the sisterhood is so close knit and tight. I'm glad that size didn't make a difference for you in the end.

I'm so happy that you had a nice pref night! I loved reading about your decision-making process. Like I said before, you really sound like you know what you want! I can't wait to hear the news

By the way, tonight I am being initiated into one of the smaller NPC organizations! There are definitely advantages

oooh i'm excited to hear where you end up! i'm also glad you gave the smaller house a fair chance, and ended up loving them. there are definitely advantages to having a smaller pledge class, and i'm sure you'll be happy wherever you go.

If you do join the smaller group, with enthusiasm like yours, it won't stay small for long!

This is a good thread. You are truly looking at the sororities, looking at yourself and seeing where you truly fit. Best of luck!
