EVERY one knows someone that i look JUST like. i almost caught a beatdown for it one time because this dude said i looked just like the chick who stole his money.

people always assume i'm mean because i don't smile either. but, since i am mean, it's not too far-fetched. lol

people tell me i look too young to be a teacher

before i chopped all my hair off, people used to ask me if i was wearing a wig

People who are from the islands always want to know what island I'm from ("what island you from"?). They are always surprised when I tell them that I'm not from the islands. It's pretty funny b/c I've never had a non-islander stop me, only islanders themselves.

I have had a few people in random stores (e.g., Target) ask me if I was the woman who was an attorney on Girlfriends. I still don't know who they are talking about since I've only seen the show about 5 times (although I think it's a great show, I just don't watch T.V.).

People always say that I look younger than I am.

Older people often say that I'm sweet.

"you're ________(insert african country here)??? but you don't look and sound African". A little bit of an education goes a long way. Not everyone in Africa looks, walks and talks the same way, you know.

I recently went to this gathering with people from my country. Apparantly, they didnt know I was one of them too. According to one girl, my friend and I didn't sound like we were _______. This was new to me.

I just can't get with smiling ALL the time, nobody does that. I get tired of people tellin me to "smile, boo!!"

When in reference to me looking for something (apartment, car, etc); ask so and so she has good taste too. I guess it's a compliment but I never really understood it.

You have such a cute accent. I'm from KY, for some reason I'm the only one who has the southern/country drawl in my family. It carries over into everything!

I used to get the mean look but now people just know that's my demeanor.

You're so nice--no I'm polite. There is a difference.
