Talking Rush starts tonight!!!!!!

Yay! Rush begins tonite at 5pm. I went to a meeting last nite where we met our Sigma Rho Chi's (mine are the most awesome girls ever!) and met some of the other girls in our rush group. MY ROOMIE AND I ARE IN THE SAME GROUP! We were both majorly excited about that, since like 300 girls signed up for recruitment. So, we go to five parties tonight, and we will be done at around 11pm, so I will update when I get back....which I realize is ridiculously late for some people on the East Coast... (sorry, this thread will probably torture you guys!) Well, I'm really excited and am picking out my outfit right now. Thank you all for your insight into this whole process...I feel much more prepared than I ever could have been if I hadn't stumbled upon this site! TTYL!

Yay for having someone you know in your rush group! Lol. None of my friends are rushing with me, but I'm grateful to have a great group of girls in my rush group---they are all becoming my friends! lol

Thumbs up Diamond K's rush DAY 1!!!! How exciting!

I am officially the happiest rushee ever. I had an amazing night-- all that I expected and more...much more. So here it goes because it is midnight and I know you don't want to listen to my babble....I'll cut to the chase:

STILA-- This was the first house I went to so I had no idea what to expect. Their decorations were so cute and there were so many smiling faces that I couldn't help but be swept away. Conversation with these girls came so naturally....when the 45 minutes was up I was shocked. Definitley one of my top choices for the night! Excellent way to start the night!!!!

DIOR-- These girls were so down to earth and I could tell they all really loved each other. I actually got a chance to ask a lot of questions....and felt empowered. It was here that I finally got the hang of the whole recruitment thing!!!! I'm keeping an open mind-- but I don't know if I really see myself in this house. We'll see what happens.

LANCOME-- I knew a bunch of sweet girls from this sorority and they all were so excited to see me and told their sisters about me. It really feels nice to have people know your name when the whole process is so anonymous sometimes. Their room was decorated with beautiful balloon arches and I could tell they spent a lot of time decorating. I felt comfortable here, but I might want more socially than what this sorority can give.

MAC-- My favorite so far. These girls had an awesome, energetic cheer as we al walked in and the decorations were beautiful. We got to sit down in comfy chairs, which was a big relief for my aching feet. I talked to a girl who is in one of my classes for a long time, and we totally got off topic, but it was AWESOME to talk to her so openly. The 45 minutes seemed like 10 in this group....the feeling....maybe...I will wait to tomorrow to see.

and finally, CLINIQUE-- the last house, and I was TIRED and so were the sorority girls (obviously) but they didn't let it show. This group shines with diversity and I love that. They are definitley not the cookie-cutter type. I talked to girls from all different backgrounds and interests...they all had one thing in common though...they loved their CLINIQUE sisters with all of their hearts. This made a very lasting impression for me. A definite fav. as well!

Tonight we only had to cut one house (which was hard enough)....so this is what I chose to do....I chose to cut DIOR and keep all the others. My roommate is leaning towards CLINIQUE and STILA, so we'll see what happens tomorrow! I'll update you guys probably a little earlier tomorrow bc the max. parties we can get invited back to is four. So....you will probably have an update tomorrow by 11. BYE!!!!!

Mid-day update and Q!!!!

Tonight is philanthropy night, so we will be talking about the philanthropy and making a craft or something fun like that...but I have a dilemma...I talked my little heart out last night and asked tons of questions. I'm afraid I will have nothing else to say tonite...ahhhh!!! Tonight is really important because we have to narrow it down to two houses and the sororities have to cut pretty harshly too...any advice on some awesome questions I can ask, in general, and about philanthropy???? Thanks!
