I agree. googling people etc. is not stalkerish, but it is distasteful. Tacky. Maybe even a little rude?
If you are going to spy on someone you should never admit it. Its like listening to a conversation you were not meant to hear, you look really creepy if you bring up information from it.
How would you guys react if someone brought up the fact they googled you on one of your early dates? Or even a later one? Its a little scary. It might even be worse than interviewing the person's friends first . . .
We use the word stalker awful lightly. Its not stalking to drive past someone's house. It is stalking to sit outside their house and wait for them to come out or get home.
Thats sssuming that the attention is unwelcome. If you like someone a lot, many activities that "seem" stalkerish are just cute and doting. And probably nauseating to your friends.
