When I called EO/Gift Mart concerning dangles, I was told that several chapters did things differently. Example: I asked about the lion dangle, what was it for, and was told, "Whatever your chapter decides." I imagine it's the same way with the scholarship balls/pearls. Some chapters award them for anyone who makes Dean's List, others for the highest GPA that year or term. I'm glad we didn't do it that way, as we had two sisters with perfect GPAs!

bump
I have a pearled badge (pearl is my chosen birthstone for june some say amathist) anyway it has raised hands and I was wondering are raised hands older or newer.
I just bought a plain badge off of ebay cause I want to make a ring out of it and I liked the idea of the hands not being raised cause well if there is a way to break jewelery i will find it. (own a restaruant)
Some one asked earlier in this post if there is a place on the net with the various pins or pics of pins? I didnt see an answer.
Also the story that meant something to me was that I sent my pin down to auburn when my cousin got initiated in ADPi there. Here diamond sister seemed to enjoy the sentiment but my cousin didnt know what I did until after initiation. So, she wore my pin until hers came in. I think she ended up getting a pearl badge like mine but I think she got the guard. (oops made short story long)

What a lovely sentiment - I'm so glad that your cousin appreciated your gesture!!
I don't know of a place online where you can see the different pins. ariesrising's greek pages has descriptions, but not photos. A few of us know/know of a sister who is not on GC, and she collects ADPi pins. She even has an Adelphean pin!!! I know that she was approached about making a poster of sorts (for every chapter) with all the different styles of pins, with or without other members' pins, but the insurance problems were rather insurmountable. Optimist that I am, I still hope to see one in my lifetime!
As I've said so many times in the past, I think our pin is the most enduring symbol of OUR sisterhood: We all wear the black diamond with the clasped hands & stars, but we can individualize them to show the world that our sisterhood is totally unique and diverse!

OK, I'm going to update mine because I'm sooooo tickled that I got my first pin as an alumnae!!!!
1) Pins I have:
* Initiation Pin - plain white-gold pin
* All pearl pin - yellow gold, 20 pearls. I just paid for this one... I cannot WAIT till it comes in!!
2) Pins I would like to acquire:
* white gold amethyst pin... right now I would prefer either the amethyst points with pearls in between (or diamonds.. lol) or the all amethyst pin in white gold
* white gold all diamond pin... almost every ADPi's dream!

bump - I had forgotten about this thread, and we should be seeing many new Deltas soon!
For those who didn't know, I added:
-a 20-pearl yellow gold pin!
-the yellow gold pearl points with roping (I call it "art deco" because it does imitate the style)
and gave away one of my pins to a sister who had lost hers. "We live for each other", you know!

Really?! I think it's beautiful! That's the pin that I'd like to have made into a ring. I never saw one until about 2 years ago!

Your badges sound beautiful. A soloist at my in-laws' church is an ADII and she wore her badge to Mass last weekend. I was suprised because it is a very, very small town and the closest ADII chapters are more than 4 hours away. I wish that I could have seen her chapter guard to see where she went to school. She was very involved because she had dangles for days.
Anyway, here is a link to B, P & A for ADII's most current offerings. They are all beautiful.

Hmmm.... you're not looking for the white gold pin with pearls and sapphire points any more?

My pin is yellow gold with sapphire points and pearls in between (Initiated in 2000). I also have a plain letter guard and most of the dangles for my offices and leadership positions.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The pins I would love to have......
any pin that has flat hands and flat or engraved stars....
a white gold pin with aquamarine points and pearls (one of my chapter sisters had a pin like this and is was beautiful)
a white gold pin with all pearls
a white gold pin with pearls and emeralds (my birthstone)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Now that I wear less yellow gold, I really want a white gold pin!

Off the subject - but still Pin Info
I had thought about making my plain pin (I have a plain one and a pearl one) into a slide for my slide bracelet . . . .
The above is not mine it is just a picture of one similar to mine. (I cut and pasted that so you would know what I was talking about)
Any way, the jeweler (sp?) hummed and hawed about it due to the black part of the pin saying that the person attaching the pin to the slide part couldnt bond it accurately because the black part would "burst" for lack of a better term. I was wondering if anyone else had heard of heat causing the black part to blowup.
I guess I will just send it to burrpat to make a ring or what ever.
