Getting ready to head out to Oysterbake.
Heather (my NIOSA volunteer fcontact/friend) was telling me to tell the new chicks volunteering with us to wear comfortable shoes. Dont wanna get Fiesta Feet. I told her only people in SA would have any clue what in the hell Fiesta Feet were. lol.
From today's Express News:
It wouldn't be enough if a citywide party that lasts more than a week kicked off with just a bang. So, Fiesta 2005 started officially with four air cannons simultaneously blasting confetti into a crowd of about 1,000 people who gathered early this morning in front of the Alamo Church. The 323rd Army Band immediately added to the atmosphere with festive music as people celebrated by cracking scores of cascarones on each other's heads. Above, Fiesta Court members Vanessa Cobarrubias (right) and Tina Cuellar, crack cascarones on each other.
