Kelly raised some very good points in her post. People living in these former communist countries have very hard lives without the opportunities that Americans take for granted.

Russian mail order brides come to New York City not knowing a word of English. Within a month, they can say Prada, Gucci, Fendi, Armani, Versace, etc. Apparently, they can speak Italian.
