Hey!
Okay so I have a few questions for you.
1.) what school are you at?
2.) how many Glo's are currently at your school?
3.) Are you sure that COB with any other group is not what you want?
4.) what's Greek life like at your school? How important is it? Sounthern? Etc.
I know a ton of girls on campus here that only wanted the TOP house or only wanted this house for whatever reason but ended up with a great house through COB or rushing again!
If you feel like you can't answer my questions on here, please PM me. I would love to help you find your home.
I am not an experienced GC'er, but I can try to give you some advice- like what I would've done in your case.

Daisy,
I attend Kutztown University of PA, and there are 5 sororites here- 3 national and 2 local. And yes I am sure there is no other sorority i want to rush. MY friend and I would really like to start a new national sorority on campus so come spring recruitment, more girls can find a home. Greek life is making its way to popular up here... i believe the more sororities/frats we get, the more popular i think it will become.

Hey! Im sorry to hear that you didnt get a bid, but Im glad that youre taking the initiative *sp* to help out other girls at your school find a good home. starting a sorority is going to be tough work, but if it all works out it will be very rewarding. best of luck to you, and we're all here to help.

Let me just point out that you can't up and start a national NPC sorority without the approval of the Panhellenic Council on your campus. It makes all the approvals for expansion on a campus. If the Panhellenic votes for expansion then A) a local group can be colonized by a national B) a national can come in and form a new colony. I have a sneaking suspicion that not all groups on your campus are at total. This means that your campus Panhellenic would *most likely* not approve expansion. I don't know anything about your individual campus but just a heads-up. Of course, you can always start a local in the hopes of colonization, or explore national multi-cultural/professional/NPHC/NALFO groups (depending on your personal background and interests).

If you want to do this, make sure you research your options. With NPC, there are two ways you can do expansion: if you start a local with the intention of going national or the college panhellenic thinks it's wise to expand. We actually are going through this because the local here wants to go national (which I fully support). I wish you the best of luck whatever you do!

Call me a cynic, but I think the last thing Kutztown (or any of the state system schools, for that matter) needs is another sorority. Just to clarify, according to the website there are 4 national sororities (AST, DZ, Phi Sigma Sigma and Theta Phi Alpha), one local and a Mu Sigma Upsilon interest group.
Plus I believe (by the way you've described it) this was informal/COB rush. Please consider rushing again in spring during formal and getting to know ALL of the sororities before being so insistent that there is only "one" for you. Even if you are an upperclassman, you should still keep an open mind and get to know women from all the groups.

I tend to agree with 33girl... it doesn't seem like there is a big interest in sororities on your campus Maybe you should just look into joining next year...
