Mocha, I feel ya girl. I can tell you this, once you begin to work on your spiritual self the Devil tries to come in heavily and works overtime to steal your joy. It has been a hard road for me and I continue to struggle each day.

Sisterfriends I don't mean to come in the forum and sorta flip the topic but I felt comfortable enough to speak from my heart. AKA2D I meant to tell you that I thought your words were really inspiring .

Mocha if you ever need to chat about this more, your can always e-mail me. My internet ear and heart is always open .!!!

Piggy backing on darling1 for a minute...

Remember that sometimes (shoot, ALL the TIME) God knows what we need better than we do! If you earnestly seek *Him*, He will give you what you need. Sometimes we pray for tall dark and handsome, and God knows we need short, light and kinda o.k. looking because he is the God fearing man that is going to love us like Christ loves the Church. Whhoooo weeeee!! Now THAT is a REAL MAN. One who will readily lay his life down for you, one who puts you first in all things, one who delights when you grow and prosper. The amazing thing about God, is that when you are in tune with Him, he will make Mr. short, and o.k. looking look (to you) like Prince Charming-- big gut and all!!

Darling1, you know you're speaking right!! Whenever I'm on the right track, the devil seems to step right in! It's like he's sitting there in hell like "Nope, can't lose that one" Let's say it's a Saturday and I decide to go to church the next day. And I haven't been to church since...what was the last holiday?? Anyway, come Sunday morning...I can't find my church shoes, my hair didn't curl right, I spill something on my dress...it's horrible! I end up not going after all of that! To make it worse, he (satan) then really goes to work by suddenly producing some party for me to go to. Then I feel guilty like dang, look how this looks...it's Sunday, I couldn't go to church , but I can go to a party! Oh good grief! I did not mean to testify in this forum...forgive me ladies. Thanks for the invitation to e-mail you darling1...you know I will! You've touched on such an interesting and important topic!

Eclipse, I hear you on that one girl! I think God is teaching me that little by little through the years. When I was younger, I had a whole list of what my Mr. Right should look like, what he would drive, the kind of clothes he would wear (an actual list!), but as the years go by I realize that the quality of man is oh so much more important than what he looks like or what he drives, etc. Each time I look at that list, I cross something off. You know what the list has on it now? It consist of one line;8 words: A good man that's gonna treat me right! I'm a fool no longer!!

Eclipse you are so right, i did the list thang myself, but as i've grown i've realized that some of the things on the list really don't mean all that much to me anymore. When we allow God to complete us then we don't need unnecessary ornaments to make us happy. God knows better what we need and deep down that is trully what we all want, God's stamp of approval on our soul mate.

I have to tell you Sexy Mocha that I have always found True Love when I wasn't looking. When You are just being yourself and enjoying yourself no matter what you are doing or where you are (as Paul said "I have learned that in whatever state I am in to be content") then and only then will it happen. I didn't meant to get religious here but I find the Word very inspiring. I am older and I know that when you are just busy being YOU and taking care of YOU then it will happen. I spent 4 years without a real relationship and then it happened. When "it" happened I still wasn't sure until one day I noticed he was doing things for me that let me know:

1) He came to cut my grass and his lawn mower broke. He cut my whole yard with just his weed wacker. (You will have to see my yard to appreciate this). Neighbors were walking by and joking to him "You the man!!"

2) I came home from work one day totally exhausted and sat in one spot for a whole hour saying nothing and he fixed dinner for me and my children.

3) He fixed everything around the house that was broken and even some things that weren't and constantly looking for something else to do.

I could go on but like I said -- just don't go looking. TAKE CARE OF YOU!!

BE POSITIVE!!!

Write down everything down to the most intimate detail...God knows our intimate thoughts so there is no need to lie. Once you finish, put the letter in your favorite bible verse, pray on it and let it go.
I find this to be so true. At one point it seemed as if certain areas of my life wasn't coming together as fast as I wanted. This prayer had nothing to do with love, but my life in general. I prayed and cried and wrote down what I wanted to accomplish. God has a plan always, but you know how we want to see immediate results or instant gratification in everything we do. Anyway, I wrote down three issues of my life I wanted changed. I folded the piece of paper and taped the ends together so I wouldn't look at it again. That was my remedy for letting go and letting God. I put the folded paper in the bible. Time had passed and I had forgotten about the piece of paper. I opened it up and I realized everything I wrote on that list had come to being. I feel that writing down what you want and letting go is the answer to any situation. Be it love, friendships, career or family. Prayer works ladies. God is good all the time and all the time God is good.

Total Elegance, one question were you able to totally forget about what you wrote down and placed in your bible? I mean I tend to write things (have yet to place it in a bible and pray on it) ... but I write things and move on but still in the back of my mind I think about it. I have read many time to let go and let GOD in, but I find it hard not to think about it, not that I don't trust him just can't get it off my mind. This is no longer about a man it is about life in general, anyone got answers to this??

Lady,

I understand where you are coming from. I have been a person who has hard time letting go of things and like to be in control of all situations. I find it difficult to let things go and I think it may be God's way of testing our patience. That is the hardest thing to do. I think that it is God's way of telling us that it is not us who are in control but him. If I may suggest this, try praying for just peace of mind, except that you can't control the situation. Find a scripture, poem or something that you can read which gives you comfort. Keep reading it until you truly understand what is being expressed. Then at that point I believe you will be at greater peace and understanding. Sisterfriend it will be alright!!!! You know you can always e-mail me if you need to talk more .

Ahhhh.....Just listening to you ladies makes me impatient for my soul mate! I've prayed for him and my list - that I've gone over with God - is pretty long. When I am ready and my Loverboy is ready we'll meet and we'll have a beautiful marriage just like some of you all. You all have some wonderful hubbies/boyfriends!
