Lambda Chi Alpha had a pretty good one a few years ago:
Front of shirt had their letters
Back of shirt: the best friends money can buy

This ones funny
Sigma Chi: they had their letters on the back of their shirts that looked like Fed EX. Underneath the letters it said, "Sigma Chi stuffing box since ___."

Some pretty lame ones i've seen

ATO-conceited slogans mean nothing unless you have the letters to back them up
ATO-dominate everything

Pike-I wanna be like Pike

Exactly - I thought he was an okay guy until I saw him in that shirt.

The worst one we had on my campus was:

(front) There are two types of girls...
(back) KAS girls and those who wish they were.

They took a lot of heat from that shirt from fraternities and independents. Most of the sororities just blew it off. ZBX, the other local, had a great one a few years ago - it had their letters in green (their color) on the front, and on the back showed a green M&M but it has ZBX on it, and said "There's something about the green ones!"

You have to understand that some slogans might be offensive to some girls, but they're rush slogans, and a cocky slogan attracts prospective rushees attention and just makes us laugh.

Yeah, but do you really want all the sororities thinking you're jackasses? I don't mind some of the shirts, but the little sister one put me way over the edge.

I think BDA (Big Dick Attitude) shirts are generally more accepted on bigger campuses. I'm from a relatively small school (11 fraternities, 5 sororities) where all the Greeks know each other well, so it's more offensive there.

Yeah, you might use them to attract prospective rushees but are you really attracting the right kind of guys?

I believe it is SigEp here that has shirts that say "If you can't beat us on campus- beat us off". My favorite was tasteful and simple: FSK's "DAMN PROUD" on the back of a blue shirt.

AEPhi had that rush shirt here this year, I think.

Yeah, but it'll definitely annoy quite a few girls and probably even, in a few cases, lower their opinion of your house. And considering the Delta Omega Chi case at UCSC, if enough people find it offensive, there's probably even a possibility that you could get fined/put on probation for sexual harassment. Why chance it?

When I wear a shirt like that I might be a little skeptical about turning some girls off, but for the most part, the ones that know me will just grin at me and make some funny remark at it.

Cocky slogans might not be a win/win situation but I do believe they add a fun factor to the rushees and among fraternities to have the best shirts.

Sucking at Life

It's funny, but my freshman year one of my guy friends just blurted that out to someone during a playful insult exchange and we used to say it ALL the time. Although the phrase has died out somewhat we always thought it originated down here, and I know my friend thought he came up with it. He's from GA and knows no one from your areas, I wonder if there is some other connection or if it is just a coincidence (spelling?).

I agree with Betarulz! that self-goverance is the way to go. However, rush shirts that degrade women are immature and present a negative image of fraternities. I once saw a rush shirt that had a drawing of a naked woman barely covering herself with sheet and the shirt said "She Was A Community Service Project." I think that lacks taste completely. I am a big proponent of first amendment rights so a fraternity or sorority can have whatever they want on their rush shirts, but just because we have the right to say what we want does not mean we should lose all cognizance of what is tasteful and how what we say reflects not just on our individual chapters and organizations, but greekdom as a whole.

Before I became an Alpha I reserched fraternities for weeks and months, and not the just the NPHC groups. One of the reasons I joined Alpha Phi Alpha was because I was drawn to the image portrayed by the organization of being gentlemen, of being professional. This is not to say that other organizations did not portray similar ideals as Alpha Phi Alpha, but I was turned off by some based on the image they put out. When my own brothers act in a manner that I feel is not becoming of an Alpha, I let them know. As a greek, I feel that rush shirts as I described above are unacceptable, and fraternities that wear such shirts are doing all greeks (and all men for that matter) a disservice.

It all depends on the type of guys in the frat. I know I wouldn't like it if some guy said, " Oh, thats just too offense, I might hurt somebody's feelings."

It's called building up the ego, and it's what is expected from the rush chairman if you have a class of "studs".
