I do not like Lilly Pulitzer because I would not look good in most of the colors.

That is not to say that other people look bad. There is just only so much brightness that a pale redhead can get away with

There is a Lilly in Providence Place now. My husband and I were walking into Filene's (aka Foley's for some southerners) and it was right next to it. My husband cringed. Then again, he has relegated himself to navy, grey, green and khaki and has just this month been brave enough to venture into stores other than Gap and Old Navy (the boy actually made a purchase at Banana Republic...baby steps dear, baby steps )

Anyway, the point is, wear what you love and love how you feel when you wear it!

I really like Lilly, but I can't bring myself to spend over 150 dollars on a sundress, especially as a college student with law school coming up! However, should I ever win a substantial amount of money, I hope to blow a couple of thousand on nice clothing!

I haven't been there yet. Because I end up spending a lot of money at PP whenever I go, I try to avoid it when I have nothing to spend. Providence never seemed to me to be a very preppy town, but then PP is a rather upscale mall for such an industrial city.

Newport is only minutes away....plus the close proximity to The Vineyard, the Cape, and all the suburban hype of southeast Ma (Mattapoissett, Marion, South Dartmouth, etc.) makes the PPlace Mall quite the hot spot amongst the prep crowd. (Can we say CRATE & BARREL?!)

I have to say that I have never seen anyone wearing a Lilly Pulitzer dress in NYC. I have in the Hamptons.

Yeah, I just graduated from college in Providence (not Providence College). I know what the mall is like, but it is rather incongruous for the city, don't you think? I mean, the East Side is pretty preppy, but that's about it--not even that WASPY. I was an Urban Studies major, and the mall's location was something we discussed ad nauseum.

Bah. I'm not very happy with the Spring 2005 collection. I do like a few of the prints, but nothing really knocks my socks off. I do like the Breena (not this print though) but I'd have to see what it looks like on.

I loovveeeee Lilly. Even my bedding is Lilly. I have already bought a dress for the summer (Sabrina with the pineapple print) Everyone in Wilson thinks I fell off of a fruit truck or something...its just not that big here, but I am ok looking like a fruitcake. My lobster fall pants really get some weird looks

You can't get Lilly in Canada (yet), but I did manage to buy one when I was in New York back in the summer. It's an adorable summer dress, blue-ish, with traditional Lilly prints.

Hmm,I have never heard of Lilly Pulitzer before GC.

I guess I'll have to check it out in Shadyside, which means going there for something OTHER than Sephora...which I can play in for HOURS by the way.
