Degrassi Junior High was a very realistic show. I liked the girl Caitilin and the pregnant rocker.

I'm from DC and i DEFINITELY remember the Santa hats!

Other DC 80's stuff....

The black mickey mouse sweat shirts....you know the one where Mickey and Minnie are dressed like a varsity athelete and a cheerleader, and on the back you could see Minnie's draws.

Leather visors with your Zodiac sign on them.

RUN JOE!

And oh yeah.....remember "One to Grow On?" they were the commercials on NBC saturday morning with folks from TV shows talking about morals and stuff.

I looooooved Saturday Morning Cartoons! And don't let them all premier the same day! I'd watch one channel all day and tape the other channel, only to watch it after lunch! I'd be watching cartoons until like 6pm!

Hey sands!!!

I'm trying to picture those visors, I remember them but I can't see them in my head.

What area of DC did you grow up in? You remember when CVS was Peoples? McCrory's? Thriftway? MORTONS (I loved that store!!!!!) Crystal Skate?

Sardines, hey and pork n beans? Lock it, lock it?

Sorry local flashback

Remember the 80's????!!!

I am not sure if this is a thread already, but we were remembering the 80's at work today, and I wanted to start this thread to get some other memories from the 80s (I'm getting old...sniff, sniff).

Here is a link to start it off. All of you who grew up in the 80's should remember these commercials:

and

Unhappy

I am glad that someone else is feeling old. I am working a summer program with 18 and 19 year olds. And they keep saying that they are the children of the 80's And if i mention something like a sit and spin.. or a big wheel they have no idea. And thank you for the link to the commercials. My co RA and I were just laughing at those!!

Damn I miss those days!!
I had a Big Wheel and a Banana Seat Bike (mostly hand-me-downs).

I remember the commercials because I was always in front of the TV. I had a Cricket Doll and I used to chew Big League Chew when I used to play stick ball.....sorry, just a little flash back to my tom-boy days.

I also remember Lancelot Link, Secret Chimp. Boy, I had no conscience at that time.
I remember watching the Banana Splits too as well as HR Puff and Stuff (?), Johnny Quest, Lincelot Link Secret Chimp and Scooby Doo (when it first came on).

80's (man there is so much)
Fat Boys
Eddie Murphy (in his prime)
Mary Jane Girls
Those netty bright colored body length scarfs.
SOS Band, Atlantic Starr, Midnight Starr, New Edition, Junior.
Night Heat, Moonlighting.

I missed the music, Duran Duran, Go-Gos, Tears for Fears, Simple Mind, and all the pop music.

I missed the freedom of being a teenager. No worries and no cares.

Oh, yeah those were the good old days.

But I will never missed the Geri Curl
