I applied to Shawnee State University (fallback) and Bowling Green State University as well as Ohio University. If my acceptance letter from OU had come a week later I would be attending Bowling Green right now. I would have gone greek there, although not at Shawnee. I'm so glad I chose OU though, it was the beset decision I ever made!

If I hadn't gone to LHU (Lock Haven U., for everyone!), I would have probably gone to either Mansfield U or Kutztown U. All of these schools are state schools here in PA. But, the best part about it is that all of the schools have AST chapters.

I applied to:
UCF
UF
FSU

I got into all three. I didn't want to go to FSU...it was a fall-back school for me. I had a really tough time deciding between UF and UCF. So, the middle of my senior year in HS, a few friends of mine drove up to UF and UCF for the weekend. We spent a night at friends who went to UF. It was lots of fun and I was convinced that I wanted to go there. Then, we spent the next night with a friend at UCF. I had a BLAST there. We started by meeting some of her sorority sisters and then she snuck us into some local bars (we were 17 at the time). Then, we went downtown to a club where her friend was a bouncer at (he snuck us in). I had so much fun and realized that I wanted the college atmosphere but to also have the big city feel as well. So, I went back home knowing that UCF is where I wanted to be.

Stanford will always be my what-might-have-been. I am not sorry I decided to go east instead, but I wish I had two lives so I could have gone to Stanford, too. What an amazing place. I always kind of wonder what direction my life would have taken had I gone there.

I only applied to Ole Miss.
I almost applied to Mississippi State and USM. My parents didn't want me to go away and wanted me to go to Loyola or Tulane.

Cal Poly SLO
San Jose
Academy of Art in SF

I was afraid to apply to SLO cuz I needed a portfolio to get into their design program. I didn't have one at the time so I chose Sac State. I was also afraid I wouldn't be out in four years at SLO. But I am getting out in four years at Sacto... YIPPEE FOR ME!

San Jose I wasn't too comfortable with. And I wouldn't get to move out.

AASF was too expensive.

I applied to like 22 schools and didn't get into 3. Well at this point that's what I remember for sure because those 3 ultimately waitlisted and rejected me.

I think my personality lined up best with Dartmouth's, so to this day I kinda question what it would have been like if I'd been there. Lately, I've been wondering what it's like to go to school somewhere warm also, but I never really gave that too much concrete thought back in high school.

I only applied to Ohio State & Duquesne. Big mistake when I chose Duquesne!! When I was looking to transfer, I applied to Pitt, VT, CMU, and Bethany. I was accepted to all of them, but Pitt was out b/c I really didn't want to live in Oakland, my mom wouldn't let me go to VT b/c it was too far away, & CMU was just really weird, and I didn't think I'd like it. So, Bethany was the perfect match for me!!

Now, grad schools.....*sighs* I don't even want to think about it!

Yeah, CMU is a very, very odd place.

I had my first fraternity party experience there as a naive, scared seventeen-year-old. I was visiting my then boyfriend and just wanted to spend time with him, but he insisted on dragging me to this party (I don't know which house it was). I told him that he was not to leave me alone under any circumstances, as I didn't know anybody else, and y'know what the bastard did? Left me alone. Like I said, better off without him.

Whoops, sorry for the tangent, there.

But CMU is a very, very odd place.

The Kappas there are nice, though.

I didn't apply anywhere out of state, which was completely moronic looking back on it. I hate Virginia with every fiber of my being. Richmond is cool though. Except its the murder capital.

I probablly would have gone to Cattawba, which is on an Indian reservation. They offered me a scholarship. They offer everyone a scholarship.

Anyway, its time for class. I'm at the bottom of a mountain next to the new river. People here don't like the name of the New River because a study said it was the second oldest river in the world. They think a river that is 2nd oldest should not be called new. But I think it makes sense. Before it was formed there was just one river, called "the River." When this one came, its only logical to call it the New River. When the Thrid one came, thats when they needed names.

I went to Tarleton State (in beautiful Stephenville, TX) and fully intended to transfer to UTexas, because I was raised and brainwashed to be a Longhorn. Well-long story short, I pledged the sorority on campus that didn't have a chapter at UT and ended up deciding that was my priority instead of family loyalty (and it's quite funny b/c Tarleton a member of the A&M school system...we downplay that quite alot, though).

Mr. dzandiloo would have gone to Texas Tech, if I hadn't whined and told him it was too far (back then the speed limit was 55, and it took 7 hours to get from Dallas to Lubbock). Oh well, he's getting his wish now that we're old & he's working on his graduate degree...not quite the same but....maybe next we'll move to Austin and I can get my LLM from UT.

I have only applied to three colleges/universities in my life and I was accepted to all three...Mott College, University of Michigan-Flint, and IUPUI (Indiana University Purdue University Indianapolis). I went to a community college for two years and UM-Flint for the remainder. I was going to transfer but I decided to stay in Michigan.

I wish I could have gone to UM-Ann Arbor, Michigan State University (GO SPARTANS!), or Central Michigan Univeristy. Cash flow was low so I had to stay close to home.

My junior year, I was looking at Harvard, NYU, UVA, Tulane. LSU was the same thing as clown college in my book.

Beginning of senior year my mom was diagnosed with breast cancer and I just couldn't see being far from home. Tulane was always my dream school anyway. So I applied to Tulane, LSU, Loyola, and my counselor had me apply to UVA at the last minute with an application for the Jefferson Scholar's program. I made it to the second round of the scholarship program, but didn't get in UVA (probably because my app was sent ON the deadline date)

I hated Tulane, so I transferred to LSU. I figured "its free, if it sucks, I'm getting what I'm paying for." It did suck, my degree is pretty much worthless because of all the morons that went into my major, but it was free. And I had a lot of fun

For law schoo, it was a MAJOR mistake to attend LSU, even though they gave me a full scholarship. Its too much stress, too many mind games, for a 3rd tier education. I should have just paid a bit more to go to Loyola and save myself the headache.

I really wanted to go to Boston University but even with a partial scholarship my parents really couldn't take on that financial burden (taking out loans was never an option because they did not want me...or them...to incur massive debt)

So I also applied to FSU (where I went...turned out to be the best decision due to the field I am in now), Auburn University and the University of Alabama. There was no question that I was going to go to FSU. I grew up in Auburn and my father went there so he was really pushing for this, but I knew that I needed to get out of my hometown and away from my family. If I hadn't been accepted into FSU's music program I would have gone to UA..because they offered me a full scholarship on the spot and it was still close to home but far enough away that mom and dad wouldn't always be knocking on my door!

Looking back, sometimes I wonder what it would have been like to go to Auburn. I have a fondness for the campus and the traditions of that school but I'm so happy with my FSU experience that I can't imagine really having gone anywhere else.

This is a realyl good question. It's so interesting to see why we made that big decision!
