Ok, ok.... so my reply is SLIGHTY different. Until this year, it was illegal for sororities/women's fraternities to have chapter houses. "WHY?" You ask? hahahaha...

In Tennessee, any house with more than 5... yep.. FIVE... women living in it was considered a Brothel... a hooker house to be put bluntly. Well, fortunately, just this year the law was struck down. However, NOW our Student LIfe advisor says we have to wait for ALL of the Panhellenic Organizations to be able to afford houses before we can even start to build one!

Here's the kicker...
We have 5 sororities on campus: ADPi, DG, KD, Phi Mu, and Zeta. Of the five of us, only 3 can afford chapter houses (I think because of actual Housing Authorities). So for now, we are only allowed chapter rooms. All the sororities get 1 small two bedroom apartment in the married/upperclassmen housing. How BOGUS is that?
!
Read about why there is not actually a brothel law here

Question

Where is Clarksville? Not sure.

Many of these Laws (Quote, UnQuote, "While are on the Books are so antiquated") that they are ignored by the whole State!

Maybe it is time for some resposible people to step up to the plate and say whoa! These Laws that were enacted in 1862 were for a purpose, but are they now!

Some that are being taken off because they had become a joke depending on which State and Area of teh Country were:

Cant spit on the sidewalk, Motorized Vehicles must not sound a warning sign (horn), or must pull over to give The Hourse Carrigages The Right Away so not to scare them!

Dont just complain about it, maybe try to do something to get these Stupid Laws Off Of The Books!

Show that you have some Back Bone! Get The Rest of the Soroities To work with you and Present it To Your Nationals about what you want to do! They might say NO, but, stand by Your Convictions and try it! You will get a lot Of PR if you do it and utilize the Media!

George Mason University, with around 28,000 students, has no greek housing area. This year there is a floor of one of the older dorms that the AOPis have registered as a living/learning floor--but that's about it for what's on campus.

Washington and Lee has three major Greek house groupings. I will post pictures of them all if I can find them.

The closest to campus is Red Square, a fraternity complex. Housed here are Pi Kappa Alpha, Phi Delta Theta, Beta Theta Pi, Sigma Nu, and Phi Kappa Sigma.

FIJI and Chi Psi are technically part of Red Square but their houses are not with the others and are in a more residential section of town. Formerly this was actually a third grouping of houses (including the now defunct Delta Tau Delta, and the houses of several groups that were moved during the Fraternity Renaissance of the early 1990s. These houses have now become various university theme housing like the International House, or have been sold to local residents.)

The second grouping is farther away (but still downtown) and is called Davidson Park. Housed here are Pi Kappa Phi, Sigma Alpha Epsilon, Phi Kappa Psi, Sigma Chi, Kappa Sigma, Kappa Alpha, and Lambda Chi Alpha. The Sigma Phi Epsilon house is here also but is vacant (they lost their charter last summer). There is also the former Zeta Beta Tau house, which is now the Outing Club house.

The third grouping houses all the sororities (Pi Beta Phi, Chi Omega, Kappa Alpha Theta, Kappa Delta, Kappa Kappa Gamma) on campus. The sorority row is located on Frank Parsons Way.

The houses up here are spread out somewhat. There are little clumps of houses:
-On Harrison, we have Pi Beta Phi, Delta Gamma, Alpha Sigma Phi, Sigma Phi Epsilon, Triangle, Psi Upsilon, and Sigma Alpha Epsilon.
-On our "sorority row" (M.A.C.) there is Sigma Kappa, Zeta Tau Alpha, Kappa Kappa Gamma, Kappa Delta, Alpha Phi, Alpha Chi Omega, Chi Omega and down the street Delta Upsilon.
-A few streets over there is Alpha Omicron Pi (who are moving and we are taking over that house), Sigma Alpha Mu, Sigma Nu, Alpha Gamma Rho, Phi Kappa Psi.
-The rest of us are spread out through the neighborhood.

I am excited that SDT is moving closer to other houses this coming fall. It's doubly exciting since that's the house that we recolonized in back in 84 and our 20th Anniversary since recolonizing is next fall.

Here at ASU, sororities have suites in one of the dorms, no houses.

Fraternities....most of them live on one street in this order: Sigma Chi, Lambda Chi, Pike, and KA. And then on different parts of campus are AGR, ATO, and TKE.
