I love:
Ameretto Sours
Fuzzy Navels
Midouri Sours
Shots:
Apple Sour Puckers
Buttery Nipples
I'm a newbie when it comes to drinking. Everytime I got out, I try something new. Things I've tried recently:
Sex On The Beach- didn't like this all that much
Tequilla shots-I think 4 may have been to many. They had me literally falling on the floor
Tequilla Sunrise-that was pretty good
Apple Martini-that was so yummy
Hurricane
Tequilla rose shot-tasted like strawberry milkshake
non-alcoholic drinks:
orange juice
Gatorade-any flavor except grape
Veronors

New Cosmo formulation
This New York Times article introduces people to blood orange Cosmopolitans and other variations. Shoot, I've made a cosmopolitan w/Charbay blood orange vodka and Meyer lemon vodka. Yumm.

Curing the Cosmo Blues With a Brand New Twist
By JESSE McKINLEY
et's face it: the cosmopolitan is overexposed. Ever since the four socialites of "Sex and the City" began swilling that pink combination of vodka, cranberry juice and Triple Sec, it seems you can't walk from the bar to the bathroom without tripping over some cosmo-happy drinker clutching a sticky martini glass. Cosmos are everywhere: city bars do them; country bars do them. Even Irish bars do them.
But good bartenders never give up on a drink. The cosmo's plight was exquisitely felt by George Angelet, who tended bar around the city for eight years before becoming an owner at Sugar, a low-key haunt on Church Street in TriBeCa that draws single women in their 20's and the men who ogle them.
"It is the most frustrating drink in the world to make because everybody, all night, everywhere wants one," Mr. Angelet said. "It's just like, `Oh my God, not another one.' "
So agitated was Mr. Angelet that he made it his mission to find "other cocktails to compete with it." He failed. "You can't stop it," he said. "So eventually I just said, `If you can't beat 'em, join 'em.' "
His investigations turned instead to finding variations on the cosmo theme. Last year, he introduced a blood orange cosmo at Sugar, using orange purée instead of Triple Sec. It was good, he said, but still he felt there was something else out there.
And then he found it. Right there on Aisle 12 at the local Key Food: White Cranberry Juice.
Introduced last fall by Ocean Spray, the juice is made with cranberries that are harvested early, hence the lighter color. Experts are divided as to the juice's prospects; www.bevnet.com, a Web site devoted to all things beverage, called it "perhaps the most bland juice known to man."
Where some juice-o-philes saw opportunity missed, Mr. Angelet saw merely opportunity. Replacing the tart red cranberry juice with the slightly sweeter white juice, he created a new breed of cosmo, a cosmo without Triple Sec or heavy exposure on HBO.
The result is a remarkably clear-tasting, slightly sweet cocktail, with a palate-cleansing sensation almost akin to that of a vitamin water. Mr. Angelet garnishes the white cosmo with an edible orchid, which tastes very much as if you're eating a flower. As with a pink cosmo, the taste of alcohol in a white cosmo is almost imperceptible.
Mr. Angelet introduced the drink last month at Sugar, where bartenders have been encouraging patrons to try it.
He said he felt the world was ready for the white cosmo. "Fashion trends show that white is very in," he said. He also said he intends to try to contact the producers of "Sex and the City" to see if he can get his variation on the show. "I think it's something the girls would go for," Mr. Angelet said.
Great. Then he'll just have to invent something else.

The 6 bottles of Cream Soda that I had...GONE
I miss the good ole' days when I was growing up there...not just Faygo now, but I miss having my White Castle too! Mayun! And when we finished our bottles of Faygo, my cousins and I would save them because you can cash them in for $.10...we would take those bottles by the wagonload to the corner store and buy candy!! Good old days...
Now back to the alky thread

1. So, when you mix the two mixtures together, you're mixing the Bacardi 151, the Skyy Vodka and the fruit?
2. How much alcohol/fruit do you use? Do you use this recipe to make a pitcher?
3. Is it eating the fruit that @#$%s you up or just letting it sit in the drink?
I'm having a Tyson-Lewis fight party next week and I'd love to make this drink, thus all the badgering.

1) yes, everything will end up in one big thingie. The reason that I separate them (and you don't have to if you don't want to) is the absorption of the fruits. Canteloup is pretty solid, so I don't want to soak it in the 151... I want the fruit in the 151 to be saturated. It probably doesn't make a difference, lol, just my quirks.
2) I use 375ml of 151 (pint?) and 750ml of the Skyy (middle sized bottle?). 3/4 of the bottle of Peach Schnapps. Add the juices to taste (make it taste fruity and good!!). I buy the fresh pineapple that is cored and sliced in the clear plastic container, y'know what I'm sayin? then I use a whole canteloup (I use the scoop ball thingie), probably 1/4 of a whole watermelon (that's more long than round), and a quart of strawberries. I soak them separately in a big bowl or something, then put the full mixture in a 2 Gallon bucket thingie with the push button thing at the bottom, you know what I'm talkin about, lol. Words are seriously escaping me right now, LOL!
3) If you eat the fruit, you will get @#$%ed up. If you drink just the drink, you'll still get messed up (it's 151, lol). The fruit will NOT taste good! It will taste like liquor! But it will serve it's purpose.
I hope this helps. I hope I got to this in time so you see it by tomorrow, since you gotta start soaking tomorrow!!! I promise, it will be a hit at your party, there will be none left, fruit or drink!
RefinedDiva, my first Hairy Buffalo was made with Everclear!!! I will NEVER touch that mess again!!! That was back in '93. I will never touch that mess again!!! WHEW, girl, go 'head on witcha bad self!!!
Afrochic, you killin me, LOL. Tell me what a Wallaby Darned tastes like... is it fruity? I just like the name, lol

Wallaby Darned taste like a peach slushy/icee. Really it's like a peach daquiri with a whole lot of goodies in it They serve it in a large mug. It's so good, you wouldn't know alcohol was in it unless someone told you. So you know how that goes, you have to watch yourself because all of a sudden the tipsy fairy sneaks up on you lol.

Party Drinks
Hey guys,
My birthday is on Sunday & I'm having a party this weekend w/ alcohol being served. Does anybody have any ideas on good party drinks? I'm very broke so I need things that can be mixed. And is it ghetto that I'm asking folks to bring alcohol (for the party) in leiu of gifts?
