Getting carded...

Oh, I have TONS of stories on this one, but I'll try to keep it short.

I'm 26.
I was home on break from school when I was about 19 and went out with my mom. This lady she wanted to see about something she was thinking of buying asked if I was having a good day with my grandmother (who had recently passed away). I said no, but that I was having a nice time with my mother. She then decided to ask my age and almost fell over when I told her. She thought I was 12.

When my husband and I got married (Jan. 2001), we had to take my son to his grandparents', which is about 400 miles from where we live. They are in a really conservative town not far from Amish country. The next morning, we went out to breakfast, and I noticed a lot of people staring at us because we were holding hands. They thought I was his daughter. I'm sure we were the topic of conversation for at least the rest of that day.

A week or so ago, there was a knock on the door. We have a volunteer fire dept. and they were asking for donations. When I answered the door, the guy on the other side asked to speak to the lady of the house.

This is me exactly!!! I always get carded. And I have several friends who are a bit younger (within 1-2 years) who never get carded... except when they're with me. And even then, it's very obvious that it's only because the server/bartender doesn't believe I'm of age... and I'm 25!

I CONSTANTLY get asked which high school I go to.

I think that takes care of the "do I get carded" question When I go to restaurants, I don't even wait for the waiter to ask for my card, I just hand it over.

Ok, i go to school in this small town in Indiana, which means you must be 21 to go into bars, liquor stores, and in some restaurants the smoking section, which is the bar. (Oh yeah, I turn 21 may 2nd so im like dying here.) So I decided that wed go to Ruby Tuesdays for dinner, we were going on a double date thing. Ok so of the four of us 1 is 21, we decide to try and sit in the bar because that is the only place you can smoke, so we get into the bar no prob, the waitress comes and asks if wed like anything to drink, we had talked about it extensively before hand and decided to try, we got 2 beers and she got a margarita, the of age person didnt order anything, so the waitress takes or orders and we like celebrate because we pulled it off. She comes back to the table, sets our drinks down, and asks for our ID's. so we did the typical under 21 thing and said we didnt have them, she turns to my date, the one who is 21 and wasnt drinking, and asked for hers, she had actually forgotten it, so we got kicked out of the bar, which was kinda embarassing, then as we are leaving one of our professors is walking in. oh yeah, and i do get carded most of the time to get tobacco, this one lady even made me go out and get it from my car.--JIM

I'm 21, and practically never get carded, I don't think I look that old either. Maybe I don't because I have one of those faces people tell me (like you think you know me or recognize me from somewhere). I did get carded when I saw this R rated movie a couple weeks ago which I didn't take offense to, I just thought it was funny. I'm 5' 9 and I go see this movie with two friends, one who's 6' 4 and the other is 6' 2. I get carded, they don't. I didn't get carded for movies when I was 16, and now I'm getting carded when I'm almost 22? I thought it was funny but just shrugged it off.
