Bumping because I got into it again, way more seriously than before.
I was scarily accurate in a family incident earlier this year and was so frightened that I put away all of my cards. But when I went to New Orleans, I got interested again. I stopped being afraid of my accuracy and started going with it. I practice a little every week.

Do you use the regular sized version? Because they do make the Giant and the Mini. Here's the mini.
I use the Albano-Waite because the colors are vivid. I have a bunch more kinds, but only the Rider decks really speak to me.

I don't believe in it. I'm fairly cynical about this type of stuff.

go to Banyen Books on West 4th - they used to carry the Rider Waiter in different sizes & I bet that they still do! They also have tonnes of other types of decks. I have the Motherpeace one, which is ROUND and I love it.

Me too. I actually bought a set and read about how to do it when I was in high school. I found the meanings of the cards and how they work together (regardless of how they are chosen) to be vague and could be applied to about anything rather than specifics, like the "prophecies" of Nostradamus. I think they are a bunch of nonsense.
I threw them out with the trash when I became a Born Again Christian.

New Orleans is a mecca for the craft.

Seriously. That's one of the reasons I love it.
(Hey, just because I'm a skeptic doesn't mean I can't appreciate some entertainment value.)

Bumping because the Tarot cards semi-recently helped me to make some good decisions as a writer. I was having a hard time creating a back-story for one of my characters, and the cards sorta helped me craft a story for this woman.
The Tarot: Not just for tellin the future anymore!
