this makes me think about the michael jackson home videos special. he was sitting in the car moving to the beat of that song..so hilarious. now everytime i hear it on the radio, i think of michael...yipee
about the group LFO, they love to sing about food and sex so you know the songs are going to be corny..
.'....coco pops, i got her on my mind and i just cant stop...'
'....scooby snacks, i got her on my mind and i cant relax...'
that is all i can remember. both lines are from the same song
here is the stupid chorus....
'i will show you mine and you will show me yours
and one by one we're throwing all our clothing on the floor
dont light all the candles cause i want you to see
your body so naked standing right in front of me
baby i see you'
more corny than sexy!

I like LLCool J's "Backseat in my Jeep" when he says...
"I look into you conria, your'e getting hornia and hornia."
It's hysterical.

This was funny to read. I used to dislike this song so much. I wasn't too thrilled with Shakira either.
However, I have come to like her over the last year...and the song!

Man Without Hat is a good band, but this line is just really really bad:
"We can dance, we can dance, everybody look at your hands."
Still haven't figured out what the hell they were talking about.
"We were at the beach
Everybody had matching towels
Somebody went under a dock
And there they saw a rock
It wasn't a rock
It was a rock lobster" -B-52s, "Rock Lobster"

I don't have a problem with Shakira's song. I interpreted that lyric to mean, "I've got small breasts and, really, that isn't a bad thing." 'Cause you know, men seem to favor women with big breasts....
Also, don't forget that Shakira is a Latin artist who eventually crossed over into mainstream play. "Whenever, Wherever" is called "Suerte" on her Spanish language album. The lyric you all are talking about translates pretty much the same in both languages as she sings it. However, let's not forget that a lot of songs which go from Spanish to English can get the lyrics sort of messed up as word for word English translations won't always fit the music.
Just a thought.

The worst is in "Oops I Did It Again" when Britney does that dumbass interlude:
"Britney, before you go, there's something I want you to have"
"Oh, it's beautiful, but wait a minute, isn't this...?"
"Yeah, yes it is"
"But I thought the old lady dropped it into the ocean in the end"
"Well baby, I went down and got it for you"
"Oh, you shouldn't have"

50 cent:
"if I didn't smell good would you still hug me." Come on 50. Damn, you can be hard on your luck but I'll always give you a bar of soap.
"and we can do all the things you like, I know you like that." well, yes obviously.

speaking of the Skakira lyrics, they reminded me of some of Jewel's lyrics...
"...these hands are small I know, but they're not yours, they are my own..."

oh there is a crappy Canadian boy band (I believe they were Canada's answer to LFO...don't ask me why) but they have a song called get down
and the course in part goes,
" If you get down on me, I'll get down on you..."
and then one of the verses is,
"...I'm gonna make you come tonight (and then there's a pause) Over to my house..."
I'm like please boys, we get the sexual inuendos, but when your fan base is 12 year old girls this is highly inappropriate

OKAY!!
Maybe this song should be 'I don't know the words to half of songs' because half of these threads are misquoting lyrics like crazy. . .
I agree that LFO is doing some silly things with their lyrics but it 'Cherry Bubblicious and Coco Pops, got you on my mind and it just won't stop. Tilt a whirl, baby girl slip n slide. . .' I think during half of their songs. . .they are talking about toys and food made popular when they were growing up. If you remember in 'Summer Girls ', they mention several popular 80s trends.
edited to add:
With Ludacris, if you grew up in the suburbs(like me), you probably wouldn't get half of the lyrics of his songs. Most black people know what he's talking about. But I do know that you guys know about 'HOs' so if you understand how you can 'take a ho to hotel. . .hos tell everybody even the mayor. . .' Because that entire song relates to almost everyone I know.
And with the Nelly's #1 lyrics, it 'you can't hold me if your last name was Hanes' as in Hanes underwear. If you don't get that, you're truly lost in the world.
As for dumbest songs. . .I don't think their dumb but I don't get them. . .some of the songs I like though. ..
'Proudest Monkey' -Dave Matthews Band
early Ozzy
'Tonight, Tonight' SP
some of the Stone Temple Pilots songs
Song 2-Blur
and the ever popular dumb song 'Smells Like Teen Spirit'. . .the lyrics in the middle 'an albino, a mosquito, a libido'. . .what the?!?!

R. Kelly's entire "Ignition" song. Totally cracks me up though. Some of the local DJs did a "dramatic poetry reading" of the song on their morning show. It was extremely funny!
