I think you need to put the link to the dress if possible!

Very cute. I'm sorry things didn't work out for you. I'm sure you know about your other options. Please let us know if you pursue COB.

I might, but would need to learn more. Thinking it over during the night put some things in perspective for me.

To be honest, while I fit right in with the other ladies (lots of other Juniors....none as old as I.), and we could talk fashion and celebrities and college stuff for hours, there is a decade spread between the Freshmen and pretty close to that with the other Upperclassmen and me and that was never clearer than it was during Recruitment. Just in reactions to things that would happen, and cultural references and stuff like that. Things that are just the way they are.

Then again, I haven't run into any students my age in ANY of my classes yet or on campus for that matter. Even the grad students are about five years younger than I, and there are those who are considerably older and they probably feel the same way about how I carry myself and deal with things as I do with those who are my junior in age.

While I could picture myself in an NPC Collegiate based Sorority.....I'm thinking that the ship for that sailed about eight years ago. It was nice to try....but the chapters know best and if they didn't see me as a fit....then they were making the proper decision.

MCGLO recruitment begins next week, and there are two groups that have shown an interest in me, and I was also interested in them.

They are:

Blueberry
Strawberry

I will update if I become a member of either org.

Misscherrypie, I just now read your thread and I just wanted to say that you sound like a really poised and dignified young woman. Best of luck to you in the future!

You had said from the beginning that NPC was only one area of interest. It is possible (not knowing your school, of course), that one of the MCGLOs might be a better fit for you. Or, since you really seem to like the philanthropy aspects, a service sorority might be a good idea too.

The dress is gorgeous Maybe you should put it on and treat yourself to a special dinner out! Pamper yourself, take care of you. Best of luck to you in all of your collegiate endeavors.

Thank you AGDee. There are many paths to follow at my school. We have much diversity here and all of the orgs on campus, Greek or not, are wonderful.

Go for the MCGs! I know they aren't for me, but I think you'd do well in any of them!
Keep your head up and keep going!

It's a Lauren Ralph Lauren, and I found it at Macy's. Macy's has them on their website as of Saturday and I'm sure that other stores may sell it as well.

And by the way, today was the first recruitment event for Blueberry!

One of their members called me last night and personally invited me again to all of their events, and I said that I'd be glad to attend them.

It was a philanthropy event and we cleaned up a local park, played some fun games and ate yummy pizza. Wow! I felt much more comfortable with the ladies of Blueberry, or maybe it was just the casual structure of the event that helped....I don't know. One member had a ring tone on her phone of a famous video game, which I recognized immediately and the two of us chatted about that and other things for awhile.

I enjoyed myself and I look forward to seeing Blueberry again tomorrow as well as attending Strawberry's first event.

I LOVE Lauren! I should have guessed that was a Lauren dress! The store I used to work in carried Lauren and I was obsessed.

Good luck to you! Blueberry sounds awesome, but I admit to having a partiality for strawberries, myself. :-)

I'm obsessed too! Every time I go to my local Macy's (and Nordstrom's.....which is less often because there isn't one closer than a hundred miles from here.) I make a beeline for the Lauren section and go through the sale racks to see if there is anything cute in my size.....which isn't often the case. :X

I did wear it out last night with Mom's pearls to a nice restaurant, where the dinner was tasty and dessert was even tastier. lol.

She's very easily identifiable if someone from her school is reading/watching so it is probably best if she holds out on updates until she knows the ending.
