Yesterday, my alumnae group had a wine tasting with snacks brought by the women. One of the women is a graduate from WSU and brought the cougar cheese. Instantly thought of this thread. That stuff is amazing! I want to find it!

Is this what you're talking about? if so, I want to order some... cheese is one of my all time most favorite foods. I love it all, even the stinky cheese like locatelli! yum!

Yes, that's it. Cougar Gold is the most popular. It's a sharp, crumbly-hard cheese.

I ordered the cheese, I love it, I am ordering more as gifts. It's really THAT GOOD.
and if you want caramels like you've never tasted, check out Rustic Caramels on FB. They are in Missoula MT. I have never eaten anything quite like them.
OP: good luck with recruitment!

I can buy Cougar Cheese 24 hours a day at the IGA in Pullman, one perk of living here. It is also now found in my local Costco.
These Montana caramels are the best ever http://www.bequetconfections.com/

^^^Not a fan of the fringed jean (admittedly I'm an old f*rt) but I have to say that Forever 21 does carry a lot of cute, inexpensive dresses - not that I would wear mind you - but daughter has gotten some cute ones from there I really liked.
I agree with Tulip's advice except I will say - they wear 'em pretty darn short on the west coast. Not saying I like it and not recommending it - just saying we saw plenty of short ones at WSU and UO during recruitment.

So even as I write I am on the phone with my best friend apologizing for my previous condescending comments about Cougar cheese. When she first mentioned it to me I think I said something along the lines of
a) We're not in Wisconsin - what kind of cheese would Palouse dairy cows produce?
b) I've never heard of this stuff and I'm in Spokane - how good could it be?
Anyway, I told her about this thread and how the greatness of Cougar cheese had gone on for two pages. She's laughing her head off and enjoying the "I told you so." She said, "I told you there's nothing like it and you were pretty snarky about it. Serves you right."

just wondering, but how formal are the dresses that people wear on preference day? My version of "formal" is pretty formal so I was just wondering if someone could give me an example of a type of dress normaly worn on preference day?

Basically anything you would wear to a formal wedding as a guest. No one really wore black/dark colored dresses though. Any of these are a good example (minus the black/neon colored ones):

1) fringed jeans? not a pretty look, IMO. I'd rather see boots with a dress (here we go again!)
2) Cougar cheese at Costco AND the IGA? Why not every Costco? I am going to ask for it. I took one of the sampler boxes to a get-together, and it was devoured. Note to self: make an order in March before it's too hot to ship.
3) Gee, thanks, for the caramel URL. Now I have to order some to compare to Rustic Caramels.
OP: thank you for starting what has turned into a wonderful thread, at least for me. Two new foods to enjoy = much happiness here.

If you like spicy cheese, get the Crimson Fire. My absolute favorite.
And if you find yourself in Pullman, swing past Ferdinand's and get the curds. Mmmm, squeaky cheese.

Questions!
Hey guys!
I'm a current student at WSU, and recruited last year and we began doing recruitment workshops earlier this semester! If you have any specific recruitment questions or any more advice, I can try to answer some

I emailed panhellenic a few days ago but I haven't gotten a response yet so I was wondering if anyone on here might know? I was just wondering if I should be able to sign up for recruitment yet? The website lets me agree to the terms but then when I try to fill out anything I get a blank page with the Greek logo at the top...
