This should NOT be hard to sort out. The three sororities you visited submitted bid lists to Greek Life. The sororities should still have copies of those lists, which Greek Life should be able to collect and compare next to your (re-submitted) bid preference card.
If I were you I'd be pretty pissed. But I'm like that. I'd be hounding them for a specific time of when you'll have a resolution from them, because you're missing important bonding time with your new sisters. If this isn't resolved in the next day or so, I think I would consider contacting the NPC so they can light a fire under someone.

I agree and this is what I don't understand. They should have been able to sort this out on the spot. Her Rho Gamma knew she went to the parties. There should be a paper trail. How hard is it to compare the papers, figure out where she should have been, and match her? Even if it means granting a chapter an extra person over quota... I'm sure there is someone "official" from NPC who can give permission to do that since it was an error. And I highly doubt the rest of groups on campus will put up a stink over it.
Hopefully it has been resolved since the OP hasn't posted again, but based on the information we have the apparent lack of follow through on the very first day is appalling.

yes-greeklife should have already fixed this and if they did not feel comfortable they should be consulting the npc regional person.

If they were using ICS, or even something similar, she would have been assigned an ID number of sorts - she may not know what it was but it should have been on all of her schedules and her recruitment counselor would have had it. Tracing the number might be easier than tracing the name if the name was mispelled in the first place. They would also be able to sort all PNMs by number that registered for rush and see if there are any numbers missing (like it going from PNM #101 to PNM#103). Definetly sounds like someone made a huge mistake on the computer.
A thought: The sororities might think she withdrew after prefs but before bid signing if her name/number magically disappeared off their computer system and that is why she was not offered a bid.

Wish it was my school. I have our bid list and the list of women who were placed plus access to the computer system with all the applications. I agree that this is probably human error and you need to go back to Greek Life. At this point it sound like you are your only advocate and you need to "fight" for your place in one of the Chapters. It should be easy and I know what I would do as the Head of Greek Life.
So sorry your going through this. It is not supposed to work like this.

Also, OP - Have you gotten in touch with your recruitment counselor (Pi Chi, Rho Gamma, whatever your school calls them). She knows you went through recruitment, she could potentially help advocate for you now.

^^^Excellent advice. Actually, everyone's given great advice.
I keep thinking "this is an 18-year-old young woman" (assuming she's a freshman, of course; I don't know otherwise). This is a big deal for a disappointed, hurt 18-year-old to handle, although I agree totally with DubaiSis about life lessons. Yet, to me, starting college, possibly far away from home, and dealing with this is really asking a lot.
If there were some way that the OP could get some knowledgeable outside support without breaking any NPC rules, I'd love to see that happen. Sometimes you need your posse, you know, backing you up when things get dicey. It's OK to ask for help when you need it.

I saw upthread that one of your pref chapters is engaged in COB. You could also let them know that you are still interested directly. If you do this, however, don't tell them the whole story, just say something like "formal recruitment didn't work out for me, but I'd still like to get to know your chapter better in the future".

Yikes! What a terrible thing to have happen. Clearly a bad glitch. I hope it works out for you in the best way and that you don't miss too much new member bonding time. Give yourself a great big gold star for reacting with class and dignity--but don't take "no" for an answer. There is a bid out there with your name on it and you deserve it!

Frankly, if they don't resolve it tomorrow, I'd go higher. Deal only with the head of Panhel/Greek Life office, those under her have not gotten it done.
The Greek Life people report to the President or Chancellor of your University. GET AN APPOINTMENT. Mention that you have an appointment with them TO Greek Life.
This should have been handled on day ONE of the end of recruitment, which was now 2 days ago. Stand up for yourself, what do you have to lose?

I keep hoping that since we haven't heard from OP since yesterday afternoon that she's gotten it resolved and has taken her place with her new Pledge Class.
Or if not, she's busy putting a banana in the tailpipe of the GLO Director's car...
