She did spell "excepted" correctly.

Y'all should stop knocking her. Otherwise, you'll bee the wons responsible for her overwhelming cents of GC-rejectment.

I have made great grades in the past, i just had a rough semester in fall09...which they will see on my transcipt that i can make better grades. I can't sleep at night, wondering if i will be able to pledge this semester of spr10. I have waited long enough, and it's going to kill me if i can't RUSH this semester. What do yall think? Me personally, i think that many of the sorors who are already in didn't meet certain requirements were still taken in anyways, but then again i could be wrong. IDK, just please let me know what yall think...and know about joining a soror under these conditions. Oh, and will they be looking at my grades from fall09 or spr10...if the RUSH is this semester. (spr10)
If you are still lurking around, I doubt seriously the sororities will see your GPA/grades from previous semesters. They will most likely see your current overall GPA and class standing and make decisions based on that, but I'm NPC not NPHC so I could be wrong.

The average GPA for medical school entrants is in the 3.5 - 3.6 range. Given that you currently have a 2.5, and that your most recent semester was a 2.0, medical school is not realistic for you. You might want to investigate other career options such as nursing, physical therapy, physician's assistant, etc. Even then, your grades would still be an obstacle.

Your college should have a career counseling and placement center. Schedule an appointment with a counselor, take your transcript, and talk about what you hope to achieve. The counselor can guide you from there.

Some NPHC orgs require an official transcript. This formally allows them to see the cumulative GPA, credit hours, and enrollment verification.

It also allows them to look at the grades and GPA from previous semesters, as well as courses and major/minor. Applicants need to remember that an invitation to membership is not a guarantee with minimum requirements. What sets applicants above the rest is based on a number of factors. Depending on what those making the decisions choose to address, it can partially be based on what else is on the official transcript.

Not likely...the same GPA is needed for these careers.

I see what you mean. There's a shortage of nursing school slots, and thus fierce competition for those few places, with many entrants having 3.7 - 4.0 GPA's. Some community colleges use a lottery system with a minimun 2.0 or 2.5 GPA, with maybe a 1/15 chance of getting in.

Okay, maybe the OP might also want to think about a LPN or Radiology Tech program.

this thread made my day! she just needs to chillax. she'll learn the hard way when she doesn't get a bid because of her bad GPA! Plus I love how she brags about graduating high school when she was 18. I'm 19 and a sophomore and most of my graduating class was 18 when they graduated high school so she didn't do anything special.
