When I was kid, I had a rabbit named Mr. Lucas. Some some reason I didn't know he was a she until she died. I miss Mr. Lucas .

I had a rabbit named Wilberforce, and one named Bumper Barnaby Bumpkins. My chicken was named Houdini, and my son named his chicken Paper Paper Coconut.

I have lots of weird animal names in my family starting with a black lab my dad found on the side of the road. He was named Traveler after we saw how he'd worn down the pads of his feet traveling. He was able to jump over our chainlink fence from a sitting position...he went back to his traveling days after a short time with us.
I have owned three dogs since I've been with my husband. Our first dachshund, Willow, is, surprisingly, a boy dog named after the main character in the movie "Willow" because (I hope I don't offend any little people) the dog is a red-headed midget! Our second dachshund is a rescue. His AKC name is Alton's Little Rascal. I know, how cliche is Rascal, but we couldn't change it after we realized that he actually knows his name. I changed it to Rascal Lee "My Maiden Name." We actually ALWAYS call both of them by their "full" names, The Willow Dog and The Rascal Dog. The last weird dog name is for a basset hound that I got my husband for Valentine's Day a few years ago. He'd always wanted a basset named Fred after "Smokey and the Bandit." We actually named the dog Frederick the Baron von Espy in honor of "Smokey and the Bandit" and Claus the Baron von Espy from "Intolerable Cruelty." Can you tell we're inspired by movies?
twinkle555, my sister has two cats, one is a velvety brown cat, and the other is black and white like a guernsey cow. Their names are Foxy Brown and Roxy Hart (also movie references!)

Awesome, & quite funny too.
ETA: I guess my cats have funky names. Our first two are Fortune and Glory (we were watching a lot of Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom.) Glory is known more as GG or Ms. G. Fortune is Mr. F, Bubba, or as my husband calls him Sir Pees A Lot. (if the cat pees on something, he does it rarely, but he gets pissed at the other cats and then pisses). Theother two are Vinnie and Jack(who is called Jacky most of the time).
Our recent addition, a little French bulldog, is Lulu.

Mu uncle and aunt had a dog named Tille Mae Kofnofski (however they spelled that name). One time that dog actually got a real credit card from Master Card and Target. We all thought it was too funny!

My boyfriend has a snaked named Warrior. I don't know why I find that funny...maybe it's because I don't expect a snake to have a name? I dunno lol, but he assures me he named him when he was like 7.
My childhood friend's older brother named their hampster Shapiro, after the lawyer who defended OJ Simpson. He was a weird kid.

One of my cats is named Chelios Lidstrom Yzerman, after three hockey players. We usually just call him Chelly.
My ex-boyfriend had a Russian Blue (cat) that had total attitude. so she was named Cleopatra Anoinette- after two famous women with -ahem- attitude.
Oh and my neighbor loved Roy Rogers as a kid, so he named his dog Trigger (even though Trigger was the horse and Bullet was the dog on the show).

Speaking of cats, one of my aunts had a Russian Blue as well. They are very pretty animals, but woo hoo, the attitude they give! That crazy tail cat was named Mickey Catch! She was "supposed" to be spayed, but we found out different when she had her first of many litters of kittens!
She was a survivor! She even got run over by the hay bailer and had her two back paws cut off, but that cat managed to survive for about 3 more years after!

I think some names just 'go' with certain breeds and it's funny. My sister's friend has a pug nammed Peggy. There is one dog that I've seen at the dog park a few times.. not sure what breed he is but his name is Norman and he just looks like a Norman.

I've heard some real whoppers in my years as a vet tech and I always come back to my favorites: Half Keg (because he wasn't too bright) and the family that named their dogs after alcohols: Hennessy, Zima, and my fave of theirs, SoCo!
