Totally fine. It is deferred recruitment season- my cousin is actually waiting on her bid right now. I'm agonizing with her.
But I went through recruitment last fall.

I love tea, so I was happy as a clam. I remember discussing my schedule with my active, and life- we actually didn’t discuss too much sorority stuff. We discussed life. She was really nice, very sweet. After I mentioned my major, she pointed out another girl who shared my major in the skit. The skit was the story of Alice in Wonderland, but with Nessarose put in all over it. I don’t remember much conversation (this seems to be the theme of this day!), but it was fine. As I was going through, I felt like I was getting more of a feel for this chapter. They were very sweet girls, who were overall very diverse. There was no way to put these girls into a single class. It was nice.

Remember what you said about Nessarose! This doesn't sound like a group you should be ashamed to join. I know you are really disappointed, but get Elphaba out of your head. You can't be a member of Elphaba, so don't even think about them. Give Nessarose a chance. If Elphaba didn't exist, I bet you'd be begging to join Nessarose.

Glad things were great at the chapters that you returned to! Several years ago we did a "alice in wonderland" tea party theme!! Small world

I've been lurking for some time but this thread prompted me to register and share some advice from someone who was not completely happy with his new member period.
The fraternity I joined was my first choice, I loved the brothers and everything about it and I really felt that I had found my home. Almost immediately after accepting my bid I realized that I did not really fit in with my pledge class and I wasn't sure how the brothers I thought I fit in so well with could choose people who were so unlike me. I really began to question whether or not I belonged. Now I know that this is nothing like your story but I would urge you to continue on with your new member period. The process is really a journey and brotherhood/sisterhood is built along the way. After being around for a while I started to love my pledge class and they are now some of my best friends and brothers. If you've ever read Harry Potter (I can't believe I'm using this reference) you know when Harry and Ron save Hermione from the troll and it says something like 'there are some things like fighting a mountain troll that you can't come out of not being best friends.' That's how it was for me and I hope you're time as a new member helps you to learn to love your sisterhood. Remember though, its a two way street and as long as you put in the effort to get to know people and have fun I think it can end up being a wonderful experience for you. My second thoughts about my fraternity are completely gone and turned around into a deep love for my brothers.
I wish you the best of luck. If you decide that its not for you then at least you tried, and no one will think any less of you for your decision.
