IU is the only school where I like seeing lower numbers of women going through recruitment.

Any word on the number registered yet? I hope the number is lower than it has been in the past, but who knows.

Hi irishpipes, just FYI, Pi Beta Phi at Syracuse (NY) will NOT take part in spring recruitment 2013. The chapter will close at the end of the 2012 - 2013 academic year due to low numbers. The announcement is on Pi Phi's international web site, and the upcoming closure has been mentioned in the student paper.

I understand KD at Iowa State took 136 in their re-colonization efforts. Hopefully they can build a strong base from this group for the future.

Unless they took an additional 50 members after their initial recruitment phase (where they took just over 80 women), that seems extremely high, especially as average chapter size is currently around 115-120

Regardless, they had a fantastic reorganization and I hope they continue to grow!

ETA: I guess if they retained previous members they could theoretically be that high.

Moderator, is it possible to note that at Alpha Gamma Delta was founded at Syracuse (1904) creating the Syracuse triad? Noticed you had Alpha Phi and Gamma Phi Beta noted as founding chapter.

Rather than asking the moderator your best bet is to send a PM to irishpipes who maintains this whole post. She more than likely removed that info from the list during the years the chapter was dormant.

Kansas State campus total

Kansas State has increased campus total to 166. An email greek newsletter was just sent out saying the following:

Sorority formal membership recruitment was August 12 - August 17, 2012. This year 731 women participated in the recruitment process. Our community was able to place 90.7 percent of registered women. The average new member class was 53 members strong. These large new member classes resulted in our community increasing total chapter size from 140 members to 166 members

James Madison University's Alpha Delta Pi chapter is now 200 strong--we had some slight changes occur.
Additionally, the AXO chapter closed in 1996--there's a FB group for photos from the chapter (https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?...7744270&ref=mf).

ISU Kappa, thanks for the correction. I was told that by a reliable source but she must have been mistaken. Maybe she confused it with the GW colonization.

I believe the dates should actually be Jan 8 - 13 (13th appears to be bid day), based on this calendar: https://www.google.com/calendar/embe...&gsessionid=OK

Recruitment ends on the 20th, not 22nd, I believe, per this link: https://secureapp.icsrecruiter.com/I...spx?UID=AMRCNU
