Rereading The Hiding Place by Corrie ten Boom for a class. Such a rich word texture!

It's been a few years, but I loved The Handmaid's Tale.

On the 3rd book in the Game of Thrones series...I actually thought there'd be more detail, but the TV show seems to include just about everything.

Has anyone read The Book Thief? I have a copy, but the pictures in it have really turned me off. I'm not sure if it's worth the read or not. Suggestions?

I am currently reading The Paris of Appalachia: Pittsburgh in the Twenty-First Century by Brian O'Neill. It's a great book on looking past what people think Pittsburgh is. Here's a great quote: "This isn't so much a history of Pittsburgh as it is a biography. Sometimes we're so afraid of what others think, we're afraid to declare who we are. This city is not midwestern. It's not East Coast. It's just Pittsburgh, and there's no place like it. That's both its blessing and its curse."

It helps that I'm a fan of Brian O'Neill & his style of writing, too.

Yes, we and yinz are part of Appalachia by Brian O'Neill.

I loved it. It took me a while to get into it, but I was advised to stick with it. Then I had trouble putting it down. Historical fiction is my thing, though. And my copy didn’t have pictures.😂
