Confirmed, Lucas and Peyton will not be coming back next season. Boo.
My guess is that Peyton dies in child birth and Lucas leaves Tree Hill b/c of it. Either the baby survives and Brooke takes it b/c Peyton asked her to and she wants a baby OR the baby doesn't make it either.

They do realize that the show is going to go downhill right?
When major characters leave, shows tend to suck (look at CSI, ER).
Just my opinion

I think Peyton dies, and Lucas has the baby. In the commercial, Lucas says something like "It is me and you..." or whatever. I never watched the show, but I may download it and watch all the seasons.

idk how the show can survive without Lucas? It would just seem so weird to me. I haven't really liked this season as much as others though. I would be sad to see Peyton die but they set the storyline up for it perfectly.

I saw another preview tonight and Lucas is rocking the baby by himself. Either is a dream or it's legit...
And I'm not sure the show will survive w/o them either. Not w/o Lucas anyway since he was the narrator forever (can't for the life of me remember if he still is).
I do think this past season has been the best season yet though so who knows.
If they don't kill Lucas off they could always bring him back if they decided to give him the money he wants. But if Peyton dies he'd be a miserable character to watch. And he could never go back to Brooke since they're a real life divorced couple and that's why they were written apart to start with. No idea.

I think Lucas might have like a heart attack or something, since he's had heart problems in the past. Since both he and Peyton are leaving the show, it makes sense... He's losing his whole life by losing Peyton and I could just see it, the heart ache he feels makes his heart go in to shock or something.
We will see!

Hilarie Burton (Peyton) said that she'd be open for guest appearances next season on her vlog, so that means she doesn't die.
Just watched the finale and sure enough it had a happy ending, so no idea how they're going to stir the pot come episode one next season.

Yea. It was all sunshine and butterflies and roses. I suspect they did that in the event they don't come back next season. It would be like the resolved everything and we should just assume that Dan crawls into a hole and dies...eventually(lol). The baby was REALLY cute(with her gummy smile and bald head).

Was I the only one confused by that finale? I was expecting death and unhappiness and the like (I even warned my boyfriend not to call me right afterwards because I figured I'd be bawling. Although I did get teary when Nathan was at Q's grave - I loved that kid.). It was so... happy! I thought there was going to be some major twist at the end and it would all be a dream.
So I guess if Lucas and Peyton really aren't back next season, that was their "ride off into the sunset"?

No, I was too. I figured since the actors aren't supposed to be coming back there would be some, uh I don't know, closure, that they were leaving Tree Hill. But there was nothing. I was like "um okay". So my question to the writers is, how the heck are you writing out Lucas and Peyton for the season premiere, when no one saw them leave?
I'm glad that Brooke finally admitted she cared about Julian. I like them together.
I too just wonder how the show will work with Lucas gone, since the show started based on him and Nathans relationship (which has kind of delved away from that, but still).

They're going to jump ahead four years again.
I'm just glad they didn't kill anyone off. It leaves room for a return at some point. But yeah, some closure would have been nice. Maybe at the start of next season we'll find out they all went on a book tour or something? Or they're on the road with Mia or another artist? I know, not a great life for a baby, but...

Well you were close
Okay I kind of understand the 14 month jump ahead, but I do have some "issues" (and I'm only halfway through the eppy)
1. Could someone please explain to me why we don't know where and why Lucas and Peyton left? I'm 30 minutes into the episode, don't you think that should have been said at the beginning?
2. If Julian can make Jamie's birthday party from New Zealand, why aren't his Uncle Lucas and Aunt Peyton there? Lame. IMPO.
3. I love the character of Millie and they made her into, kind of a bitch. What's that about?
I'm not sure if I'm going to continue to watch this season. I'm already disappointed with the show.
Thoughts?

Last night's show was so bad that even DH looked at me and was like "umm, I think this is it with the show."
Poor Kirby, that guy has been bouncing around a bit after Lipstick Jungle. I hope he stays on this one the whole season at least. He had all of 2 seconds on that WB show I can't remember the name of.
Unfortunately I think the show has run its course at this point.

Maybe I'm the only one, but I think the show is going to do OK. I don't mind Peyton leaving and I think it's going to be OK without Lucas b/c I'm really liking Julian now.
Think this will be a good chance of pace. Last season was the best one yet of the show (IMO) and I don't see things fizzling just yet.
