The thing is, it seems pretty clear that the best way to learn about the intake process of any NPHC organization is to (after looking at the website, of course) talk to real live members of that organization, in person. That's very different from asking for information on a message board. Of course I am not a member of an NPHC organization so I wouldn't presume to speak for them, but I can tell you that when someone comes on GC posting about wanting to become an alumna initiate of an NPC sorority and asks people she's never met in person to sponsor her or asks for the kind of help she's only going to get from someone she knows personally, I find it rather distasteful.

May be a cultural thing. Who knows? My parents told me this all the time, which is why we had a set of Encyclopedias and a dictionary in the house.

What I'm curious about is how did people gather information before the age of the internet (or even people now who don't have internet access)? Sure, they could go to an interest meeting, but I thought it was bad to show interest in more than one organization? Or is going to an interest meeting for more than one organization okay?

Before the internet there was this place called the library.

No I made no argument actually. If you read what I wrote you will see that I said some people know what they want to be before getting into college and there are some people that said in this thread that you do research on the chapter. How can you research the chapter if you don't know what school you're going to???

If you are sincerely interested, go to the websites and read. You will learn all that you are allowed to know.

I disagree. Having been to all of the NPHC Org National websites, I believe the sites are deficient on truly useful information. Again, find the right greeks, get good answers.

If the answers to your questions aren't there, it's members only.

I disagree. As I have already stated, there is a lot of information that isn't readily available about the culture of greek orgs. This information isn't necessarily members only.

And if you want to spill all the beans about PBS--go ahead. Don't expect the rest of us to do the same about our orgs.

And btw, considering your relationship with KAZO, why did you feel the need to bring up that comparison on here? Looking for some sympathizers?

You research the org first then when you decide on a school, you research the chapters. And if you read what everyone else has written you will find that your questions have been answered many time over. But you want to keep the circular argument going.

What obsession? I posted it and asked a while back why the name was changed and people didn't answer but Iotas did confirm it. Then the thread disappeared for no reason. Then when I posted it a few weeks ago people called me a liar so I posted the quote. Do you have trouble with history? Will you rally troops over from Kazo for this?

Again, that is a perfect example of something that is not a secret that is not on a website but in a book. We could have easily discussed it on here.

And as for saying people research the national before the chapter, well so you're saying that the guy on the AKA forum who said his daughter would never be a Delta because of what someone said had researched the national entity? Sure.

Obviously it's not just about national programs and what a chapter is like, so is there anyone out there that actually has info as to the reasoning why some people, like this one for example, are able to come up with these conclusions so early on? If someone says research I probably won't look at it and if someone is on ignore, I won't look at it. Hopefully someone knows. Wolfman? elldawg?
