Sounds like dude just cracked up after this world came crashing down....

Makes me wonder if I ever want my son(s), if I am blessed to have any, involved in sports. People hype these athletes up and they lose their identity outside of sports (assuming they ever had one). Then, once sports are gone, they become basket cases. Four loaded guns? Jacking people for cell phones? Tell me that's not crazy!!

I don't feel sorry for him AT ALL.

In some cases, partners and senior lawyers disregard minority women less because of outright bigotry than because they have less in common with them and thus don't connect well with them, the study found.

I really wish that more people understood this. Everyone is so quick to discount racial issues b/c they assume that we as minorities are simply playing the 'race card' and seeking blatant racism where there is none. In reality all we are trying to do is bring attention to the fact that minorities are often overlooked and left out simply b/c of a lack of connection and understanding. This has shown itself time and time again in my short lifetime. Just b/c someone isn't a racist doesn't mean that they don't need to take a look at their approach to other races.

This kid seems like he was a basket case from jump. It said that after a winning season his freshman year, he was forced to sit out his 2nd year for giving false information on a police report. He was having troubles even when things were good. I think that he would have ended up in his same position with or without sports. Its a shame b/c it appears that he had some potential (or at least a future if he had completed college), but he brought this on himself.

Patty Jackson's 411 for the week of August 7th, 2006

Star Jones Reynolds says someone is trying to destroy her marriage. Last week, reports surfaced that her marriage to Al Reynolds was on the rocks. Star says this is not true. She just wants people to leave them alone. Is someone trying to sabotage her marriage? The 21-month old marriage has had to endure a lot under the media eye with Star’s weight loss and firing from the TV show, The View. All eyes are on the couple. Al stopped working when he hooked up with Star, and she’s job hunting for her next gig. Their neighbors at their Manhattan apartment complex are complaining about the strange men who show up in the middle of the night. One neighbor says a man rang her bell at 4 in the morning looking for Star’s husband. The same neighbor says she sees Al all the time in the building wearing spandex, but she only sees Al and Star together when it’s time for a party. Star is fed up with all the talk about her marriage, but how can she hold up when everyone is watching her?

Singer D’Angelo is staging a comeback. The two-time Grammy award-winning singer/songwriter has just finished a stint in rehab. D’Angelo has been battling a drug and alcohol addiction for years. After almost dying last year in a car crash, he decided to make a change in his life. D’Angelo has had run-ins with the law, and he says it has to stop. He is hard at work on a new album and he hopes to release it next year.

Mariah Carey is on the road with her tour, The Adventures of Mimi: The Voice, The Hits, The Tour. Fans are loving the hit songs, but feel she takes up too much changing her clothes.

Vivica A. Fox, talk show host? YES! Vivica has been meeting with producers about hosting a daytime TV show. Vivica feels she’s got the goods to make it happen, ala Tyra Banks. Vivica recently celebrated her 42nd birthday with her sweetie Bryant Brown. He is a young cutie who used to play with the University of Houston. Check out Vivica next month on season 3 of Dancing with the Stars. Football great Emmitt Smith has also signed on for the show.

Two years ago, Singer Brandy was down for the count. The news of her fake marriage made headlines all around the world, and she was exposed for lying to the media. I, for one, did not think her career would recover, but Brandy is proving everybody wrong. The 27-year old single mom has a hot NBC-TV show, America’s Got Talent, a popular hair line and she recently did a photo shoot for OK! Magazine. The former Moesha star says she wants to perform on Broadway.

Congratulations to Actor Larenz Tate. He and his wife recently became the proud parents of a baby boy.

Look for new music from Singer John Legend this fall. The new CD is entitled Once Again.

Jody Watley is back with a new album. The Makeover is out in stores. The Makeover is part of a new career revamping for Jody, which includes her new face and new body.

As the two year anniversary of his death approaches, a black granite monument has been made for Rick James. A cover photo of his 1981 album, Street Songs, appears as an etching on his headstone in Buffalo, New York. Rick James died two years ago at the age of 54.

The sixth season of American Idol kicks off in January with songwriters and singers appearing in the competition.

Check out Halle Berry in the new Star Style campaign for Revlon Cosmetics.

WHAT’S THE UNDERGROUND BUZZ!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This Football Athlete is getting ready to enter his first year in the NFL. He’s an award-winning athlete and very good looking. Friends are concerned about his love life. He is dating a young Actress who has a lot of baby-daddy drama. He recently got into an altercation with the baby daddy. The baby daddy got a beat down from the football player. Friends of the football player want him to dump the Actress. They feel she is going to drag him down and ruin his promising career with her drama. The Actress is hot. Can the Football Player leave her alone?

Married NBA Ballers are running for cover now that a Reality Ho! Oops……Star, is claiming she’s pregnant. The Reality Star is telling friends she’s expecting. It is clear she is trying to extend her 15 minutes of fame, and she is willing to do it with a married man’s baby.

Congratulations to Actor Sidney Poitier. He’s the 2006 recipient of the Marian Anderson Award. This award is given to an outstanding artist and humanitarian. The awards ceremony takes place in Philadelphia this October. Past recipients include Oprah Winfrey, Harry Belafonte, Gregory Peck, Danny Glover and Ruby Dee and the late Ossie Davis. The ceremony takes place on November 14th.

The countdown to the snakes is on! Samuel L. Jackson’s new movie, soon to be cult classic, Snakes On A Plane opens in theatres August 18th.

I agree 100%, and people really love to trivialize this b/c they think we are playing "the race card." I see this everyday where I work and it is sad.

My guesses on the blind items:
1. Reggie Bush.
2. Nikki "Hewpz" Alexander. I can't imagine that Omaroacha Manigault-Stallworth is pregnant.

As for Soror Starruh, she really needs to make sure that BGA isn't photographed in madras shorts and white shoes.

Maybe Al like to run or ride bikes. Just because he wears spandex doesn't mean he hangs out with gay men.

If everyone had an agent like Brandy's mom or B's dad, a lot more people would be sucessful. Plus Brandy's mom was (most likely) the one who made her lie about being married.

Reggie needs to leave Nia alone. He needs someone his own age or a tad bit older. He seems like a very level-headed young man and has his whole life and carrer ahead of him. I don't wamt him to ruin everything because of her.

Flav, you were better off. But these chicks now are way more phoney and $$$ hungry than Hoopz (at least seem to be).

I totally agree, like a 24 year old accountant who happened to go to college in the city he currently plays for.

So, he's the one who beat up her ex? I'm not sure I believe that because I don't remember them saying it was him. I think they would have said it was him when the report first surfaced.

I'm glad to see that the rumors about Star and Al's marriage are not true though that won't stop people from gossiping about it on the radio and net. I wish them all the best!

I was watching E! today and there was a survey of the most liked TV personalities. Star was the least liked with more than 70%, with Rosie not too far behind. Diane Sayer was the most liked.

N4L, here are examples. This is an extremely preppy style, found primarily along the Eastern Seaboard:

Aren't they? I prefer my gentlemen to have a clean-cut look, rather than rapper gear, but any guy of mine would be SHOT if he wanted to rock those.
