I mean, it wouldn't be best actress or best actor, so I'm thinking that he's leaning toward best picture...I don't see that...I think Deuce Bigelow has about the same chance of winning.

The movie was good but not Oscar quality by any means. Lady of Pearl you should go see it you won't be disappointed. I thought it wasn't going to be that great but it turned about to be good quality. It was nice to see another black flim where we weren't acting too ignorant but this film is nowhere as deep as Crash. But if you want to see a nice movie Hustle and Flow would be a good choice

Exactly, it can hold your attention. The movie is not awful...it's not The Honeymooners. I'm just saying that it is a far cry from Oscar worthy.

If Monster's Ball was Oscar worthy, so is Hustle and Flow. Great characters. Terrance Howard deserves a nod.

Thanks for your honesty soror
Last week one of my ls came down from NY and we had a mini line reunion (4 out of 5). My deuce was trying soo hard to catch this movie because she had a free ticket. We were like chile you best skip the movie and hang with us we're never almost all together (our ace has been in Ghana alllll summer) So she ends up skipping and we have a great evening before my 3 goes back to NY. But after reading this I'm even happier - it would not have been worth it. Plus what's better than chilling with your line sisters?
Exactly

I think Singleton produced Hustle and Flow but did not direct. He did direct four brothers coming out this month.

Add actress Terri J. Vaughn to the list of talent not returning to her UPN sitcom. Vaughn, who became immensely popular as Lovita Alize Jenkins on 'The Steve Harvey Show,' has apparently decided not to return to 'All of Us' because of contractual differences, says a source close to the show. James "Turtle" Vincent -- the show's resident white guy -- will not return as well. We reported previously that the show's star Elise Neal would not be returning to the sitcom either. ( See the June 20 BV Buzz for details.) Nonetheless, it certainly sounds like 'All of Us' has quickly become 'All of Them!'...

Damn, and I actually kind of liked that show! Oh well, hopefully Chris Rock's upcoming show will be funny.

I think the show is alright. I don't watch it every week, but I did see it quite a few times.
Who is Chris Rock's brother?

Turtle made the show funny for me.
Conskeeted, the man who plays Dirk is Chris Rock's brother.

Wait, Ahmad Rashad is not his real name? So Phylicia Rashad is not her real name either? What is he up to nowadays?

Actually, Bobby Moore is Ahmad's birth name. Thanks for correcting me, Soror.
I think Ahmad is still working for one of the networks. He has the kids' NBA show, Inside Stuff.
