Erica cracks me up! She definitely gets bored easily...

OMG, I definitely see that! Good call!

Sooo did anyone tune in for Zarf today? What did you think? I thought he was great -- love how he calls everyone out like Kendall today. that was great.

I'm still catching up. I tape AMC so that I can FF through the boring parts and the commercials.

Glad to hear Zarf is a good addition to the show. I thought the character was pretty funny when Babe and Josh were joining him in jello shots last month.

Yeah I liked him then too and glad to have him back.

And I just saw this contest where you can win a viewing party for your campus -- if I was still in college, I would so enter. I would love to meet some AMC characters. Deadlines are today! So yall enter...here is the link:

I got to watch AMC being filmed a long time ago when it was still Philip, Tara, Devon, Ellen, Link, Kitty, etc. It was pretty interesting the way they do it. They film the whole thing in a pretty small studio and completely tear down the sets to make room for others they're filming that day. They keep little polaroids on hand to make sure all of the candlesticks go in the right place, etc.

That is so cool! When was this? I would love to see something like this.

Soo did anyone get a chance to enter the contest?

I am watching now -- so who do you think killed Simone? Do we think it is someone we know? Or did she die from natural causes? This looks like it is going to be really interested -- can't wait to see how this unravels...

I am a one of kind sister....I have actually not watched AMC for an entire year!!! This is highly significant since I have been watching it since college when my sisters would take over my suite to watch my television to watch this chick named Erica Kane...some 20 odd years later, actually made the divorce...but now, glad to hear updates and you know, it is like riding a bike...you never forget and still know all the main characters. But am so jealous of you, blueangel, to see the originals....wow!! Met Susan Lucci sometime later but not as good as those backbone characters. Can't believe someone killed Simone maybe I should...just lean over...and turn it on...soon??

Some good news. Aiden will remain on AMC! Actor Aiden Turner (who plays Aiden Duvane) has just signed a multi year contract. YEAH!

As you know, he's kind of been pushed onto the back burner just as Brooke had been... and speculation ran high that he was the next to go. I'm SO relieved he'll be with us for quite a while!

Other casting news: Maggie will return to the show.

So.. what does everyone think of Zarf???

Now for a spoiler.. if you don't want to know.. don't scroll down. Who is the next to bite the dust in Pine Valley. First it was Simone.. next it will be...

Update on Brooke

From TV Guide:

TVGuide.com previously reported that soap star Julia Barr — who's played Brooke English on All My Children since 1976 — has departed from the ABC sudser. Now there's more info to share... and it's rather disappointing, kids.

Brooke will last be seen among the mourners at Simone's funeral in the Wednesday, Dec. 20 episode. After that, she simply vanishes from the canvas of Pine Valley without explanation. An AMC rep confirmed to TVGuide.com that "there is no exit scene planned" for Brooke, but did not elaborate further.

The outspoken Julia Barr is understandably bummed out about this. In her December newsletter, Barr writes:

"I had assumed that I would have a final scene regarding my character's departure — certainly with Tad or Jamie, or even a last jab at Erica. I think the fans would have liked the chance to say goodbye to Brooke and to have had some closure with the character many have known for 30 years. I know it is what I would have wanted. However, it was not the decision that was made for whatever reason."

I'm glad she isn't being killed off, but this sucks too. She's been on the show for 30 years and this is how they write her out?!

That is indeed disappointing. You would think after all of those years, that they would give her a big final scene. It would have been great to see her really nail Erica.

At least the Brooke character wasn't killed off.. so that means if the writers of the show ever come to their senses, they'll entice her back with a big storyline.

I wasn't happy to see Erin go. I liked her.

They're getting rid of the wrong characters.

That is the most major sucky thing that ALL MY CHILDREN has done since they did the half assed tribute to the glorious gran dame Phoebe Wallingford when her real life persona passed away about two years ago...Ruth Warrick (also trivia buffs she was Orson Welles' screen and real life wife...she is in CITIZEN CAINE)!! Julia Barr dates back to the days when her Aunt Phoebe (see above) invited her to stay with her to keep her out of mischief and live in Pine Valley. I absolutely remember the episode when she and Erica first meet...it was like the greatest pairing for a cat fight there ever could be....the claws were drawn but the words were not spoken...they tried to be civil as they grew up but that is where their battlelines were begun and now, she is such a terrific actress...too bad its already "in the can" for next Wednesday or would suggest we start a major writing campaign to ABC!! Oh well, maybe she could write a "tell all" book since she now owes nothing to them gratitude wise....uggggggggghhhhh!!!

OK, I'm really liking this Zarf guy. He cracks me up. I didn't think I'd like his storyline, but I do.

Now.. on to the serial killer... I think they're trying to make it look like Zarg to throw us off the track.. but. I'm thinking it's someone we haven't met yet who is somehow tied in to Zach's past.

Any ideas on this?
