With 14 TKE chapters in 1921, the Grand Grammateus became our national Executive Secretary and a central office was created. In 1934, the duties of were separated and a part-time Executive Secretary was hired. In 1956, it became a full-time position.

McCauley attended the annual initiation banquet in 1907 and, with bitter opposition, presented his "Opportunity out of Defeat" speech, in which he advocated a campaign to become a national fraternity.
