Cross cut generally refers to the situation when at bid matching, the PNM is far enough down on the bid lists of all the fraternities that she preferenced that all make quota before the PNM is reached to be matched for a bid.

Sorry to hijack, but is there a term when a PNM is released from all houses prior to pref like what the OP was referring to above?

I know this is going to sound mean from the rushee POV, but I'm glad that there were some girls who were released from Dewey, even as far "behind" the other chapters as they were.
