Great grades and friends in the chapter helps, however most Penn State sororities are 90+ women, so one person liking you and wanting you to join doesn't necessarily mean that the other 89 will agree. Just to let you know the realities of it, so you aren't taken by surprise. But in any case, juniors do get bids at Penn State (we had five juniors just in my pledge class last fall, including me!) but it does mean that you must consider all of your options. Best of luck!
psusue,
Glad to see another Penn Stater! I love the ladies of Tri-Sigma at Penn State because they are all upstanding women. Good luck with recruitment in the fall.

Oh, and I rushed as a Junior, as well. I def. went in with an open mind and it all worked out in the end. I think every girl needs to think that way, while going through rush.

No, you can't do this with a sorority. You have to be an enrolled student at the campus where the chapter is.

Thanks for your help!
The most you can do is let the sororities know that you will be attending college for another two years due to your minor and major. Usually they will ask what your major is and you can tell them, but make sure to squeeze that little bit of info in there. Some sororities only take freshmen and sophomore, others usually take a lot of juniors.

I know in my sorority, we tend to give Juniors bids. I believe that if you are a Junior, have a high GPA, have recs, and you are click well with all the sororities that one of them just might extend a bid to you. You will never know until you try.
