Wow. Sounds like it is a lot worse elsewhere. The prices I paid were for premium- regular is still under $4 here.

I'm looking to buy a new car soon - you better believe I'll be checking out the hybrids! In the meantime, we haven't hit $4 yet, but I have been clocking how many miles it takes to the places I need to go regularly.

Hanging tough at $3.99 at the stations around me. I don't think they want to change that 3 to a 4 yet either...

Been paying over $4/gal for a while now. My car only takes premium.
According to gasbuddy.com, you can't even get regular for less than $4/gal around here.

Does your hybrid take regular?
How big is the tank?
How long are you able to go between fill ups?
What's your mpg?
Do you do more city or hwy driving?

Thanks so much for posting the article Jon. My car is supposed to take premium, but I've been using regular and haven't noticed any difference. According to the article, I'll be fine. I'm not really into super high performance and horsepower. If it gets me to and from work and the grocery store, I'm good

I would tell you to head up to Union City/Hayward area because they always had the cheapest gas when I was there, but it would probably use up all your gas getting from there and back to SC! lol.
Around here its around $3.73-3.80 a gallon. But my dad was able to fill up at Sam's club for $3.66 a gallon.

I would hold off on getting a hybrid until their prices come down closer to gas types/versions.
Unless of course the model you are looking at still gets the Federal tax credit and/or your employer gives you some benefit.

I filled up my tank last night at $3.95/gallon and spent about $40.00. Interesting, the only pumps that were working were the regular ones, a 180 from a few weeks ago, when only premium/supreme were available.
Good thing I did, because it finally hit the $4.00 mark in Hawaii.

More than likely, I will be filling up my tank tomorrow. I will be paying at least $4.15/gal. I cannot wait to see how much it will take to fill it up!

I just paid $3.999 for a tank of gas.
Per gas buddy, the station is the lowest in area.
The station just up the street is selling gas at $4.079
There was not line at at, I just drove up and filled up.
I asked the gas jockey what was up and found out the pump
is not able to be set above $3.999!
I know where I am getting my gas until the pumps get replaced!
Still $53.38 for 13.348 gals

Not yet in the DFW area, but I have absolutely no doubt it will hit that high before this weekend is over.
Lucky (maybe not.. haha) for me, I'm super sick right now and all I really want to do is sleep, so it will probably be one of those things I see after I come out of my hibernation on Tuesday.

I have a Prius...I'm sooo glad I bought it since I drive about 500 miles every 7-10 days. I get between 380 and 500 miles per tank with an 11.5 gallon tank. The most I've ever filled my tank with is 10.2 gallons, however. If I drive carefully (ie. the speed limit and with cruise control), I get just under 50mpg. I get 42 mpg if I speed constantly! I mainly drive highway but depending on the time of day, it can be very stop and go. You definitely get better mileage when maintaining a constant speed. My car does take regular so the most I've ever spent on a tank is $38.
