What does everyone think of the top 20? I'm excited for Twitch especially. He just seems so memorable and sweet. Also the Asian guy contemporary dancer. His solo to Queen was straight up HILARIOUS.
On LeslieAGD's note, it doesn't really seem like a lot of Latin or ballroom dancers made the top 20. The only one I remember was Susie Garcia, who is a Latin/fusion type dancer if I'm correct.

Twitch is my fave so far. Last year when it came down to him an Hok I was gung ho for Hok but even then I liked Twitch.
Susie Garcia is gross. I hope they tone down her look.

So far, my favorites are Twitch, Gev, Kourtni, and Comfort. The asian guy, the soccer girl, and the guy that trained with Debbie Allen are also interesting. I hope they do well.
I am very disappointed that they didn't take Kelli Baker (the choreographer's daughter)...and I hate that the awesome popper guy dropped out at the beginning of the choreography rounds, but I guess I respect that he didn't want to be this year's Cedric.
I don't like that they took a lot of dancers that they didn't really showcase during auditions (or at least it seemed that way to me). Last year, I really loved most of the Top 20 because I felt like they really introduced them during auditions and Vegas; it made me really root for them. Also, the group doesn't seem as diverse as last year...like half of the Top 20 are contemporary dancers this season.

Chelsie Hightower is a Latin dancer, and Jamie Bayard is a West Coast Swing dancer.
Now, it's is my favorite style, but I think it's a bit much that 13 of the top 20 are Contemporary dancers.

i do not like the chick from miami. tacky!
glad that twitch made it-what a sweetheart.
loved the bohemian rhapsody solo!
i feel that they should have taken the redheaded roommate, instead of the other roommate-especially after other roommate said that she would not be back if she was not chosen. the redheaded girl stood up for her roommate and seemed so sweet.

Oh, man...Katee (the roommate who made it) TOTALLY turned me off during Hollywood Week....as did Jessica King (when she literally showed her butt at her group member during the choreography round).

I really liked the guy who did that Gene Kelly-esque dance during his audition. He got cut though during the final round when they were choosing the top 20.
I don't have a clear cut favorite yet. I guess I'll see this week who stands out to me.
I think I said this last year but I really like this show so much more than American Idol!

I think this year's Top 20 is decent, but perhaps not as good as last year's (we'll see). Like WinniBug, I like contemporary best, but it *is* a bit much that there are so many dancers of that style this year. I wish more ballroom/Latin people had been chosen.
As far as who I'm liking so far...
Girls = Kourtni, Comfort, and Kherington. The jury's out for me right now on Susie. And, I, too was a bit miffed that Kelli Baker and the "redhead roommate" didn't make it.
Guys = Twitch and William so far. I wanted Brandon (this season's "Danny" {whom I *LOVED* despite the "arrogant" label}) and the "Gene Kelly" guy to make it, but they didn't.
I can't wait to see what unfolds!

After last night, here are my favorites: (I didn't get to see all of the auditions, so couldnt make my picks till now)
Girls:
Kherington, Chelsie H (I thought Mia'a piece was beautiful for her), Katee (even if she did slip up in front of the judges when they were about to put her into the top 20).
I think Rayven is a beautiful dancer, but I think her personality might get to me.
Guys: Twitch, Will, Joshua
ETA:
Favorite dances of the night:
Katee & Joshua
Kherington & Twitch
Chelsie & Marc

Here are the routines I liked last night: Both of the hip-hop dances, the smooth waltz, Mia's "Burton Bride", and Tyce's "Too Hot"
Based on tonight's dances, I think the N+T combo is a great addition to the show. Did they replace Shane or is he returning?
I thought both of Jean Marc's choreographed routines (cha cha and jive) were just hideous! I was shocked that the judges liked them, because I thought they were terrible. I don't know how much of it was the dancers and how much was the routines, but I absolutely hated them.
I also liked Will (the Tango), but I thought his partner was weak...and her boob almost came out of her dress when she was hanging upside down at the end of their number.

all in all, i thought everyone did a good job. i thought the tango couple shouldn't have smiled as much as they did while dancing-smoldering looks would have better set the mood.
loved the tim burtonesque wedding dance.
thrilled for twitch-hope he keeps up the good work.

I think when they decided to get rid of Rayven, they had to get rid of Jaime because Kourtni is way too tall for him to partner her. I think the tall guy (Max?) should have definitely gone home. Also, I would have prefered that Jessica go instead of Rayven.
