Hey all!
Well we will be starting back up in early September, rush is the 3rd week of september.
I will be sure to tell you when we'll be at the Maddy, it is like 10 times bigger than einsteins... brunny is just something you have to experience before you leave... especially in september it's going to be packed!!!
CutiePie! Isn't Natalie the best!!! We are going to be roommates this year, she is my closest friend at ddd, and Laura K is so wonderful, Alice Thorton is awesome too... they are gems...what sorority are you in?
Lil G, well we have been recognized by sac, and only as the Greek Fraternal Association, not the individual houses, but we have been getting some press coverage, which is good..
I love this! There are actually canadian greeks here! this rocks

Lil_G, that might be Wilfrid Laurier University in Waterloo that you're thinking of. They definitely recognize greeks, and are one of the few pro-Greek campuses in Canada (more likely the ONLY one!). The Advisor Faculty guy is a TKE (I think) and the Dean of Arts is a Gamma Phi Beta.

No I meant western is on the decline now after supporting a strong greek system. I heard the administration doesn't want fraternities on campus and is trying to get rid of them.

That's probably true of UWO...I know that at Western, none of the houses actually have the letters on the outside of them, and that the Greeks are snarled in all kinds of red tape and waht not. BOO!

That sucks that Canada's greeks are having so much trouble with the system, especially since it seems that it was really strong at some point...why are so many administrations afraid of us? It's bizzare...

Since I think you're a Chi O, Chi O used to have a Canadian chapter at Wellmuth College (now part of UWO)...alas, it was from 1899-1900! Check it out here: http://www.canadiangreeks.com/directory/chio.html

Love that! They were Phi chpater, which was reassigned to my chapter at USC in 1940 and I always wondered where Phi came from originally! ( I must have known at some point, but forgot!)

Hi all!!!!
I'm a Canadian too (as Sarah mentioned!) I finally made it back on GC....as I am very busy with wedding plans (and Sarah knows that all too well...being one of my bridesmaids!!!)
I'm from Dartmouth, Nova Scotia but I've lived in Toronto as well (and after my wedding I'm moving to Tallahassee, Florida!)
It's great to see so many Canadian greeks here!!! I know we're missing at least one more of us, my brother Ed (zete_boy) hasn't posted yet!!!!

liv4chi0- It gets scarier than that. My best friend lives across the street from Hillmount (Mogul Drive??), and I was a teacher's helper at Hillmount when I was in Junior High.
You're freak'n me out!!!!!!!
Canada isn't as big as it looks I guess....

Surprise, I'm Canadian too! From Windsor, ON....
The Greek system here is pretty dead(IFSC was non existent last year) but thanks to the efforts of Sigma Chi, at least some ppl have heard of greeks. The Sigma's are the most active group and are even hosting a bbq for all incoming frosh next sunday! I am always encouraging my chapter to get involved on campus too, but sometimes it seems like i'm the only one....
It's just too bad that other canadian greeks seem so far away; I've only met a couple girls when I've gone to convention....
Good Luck on recruitment
