Add another one to the bandwagon:
NKOTB January 8 or 9th, 1990 at (what used to be) the cap center. I remember it was snowing and traffic was SOOOOO bad and my mom and i had to scream at each other the whole way home b/c it was SOOO loud. I think I was in 6th Grade. My first real concert was Soul Asylum, Screaming Trees, and Sound Garden the summer after eight grade. I remember some drunk guy bumped into me and spilled beer all down the front of my shirt, and I got in some much trouble when i got home, cause I reeked of beer and My mom swore up and down that I had been drinking. And to make it worse the shirt was silk (cause this was in the middle of that silk shirt phase we all went through) But, I don't know what I was thinking wearing a silk shirt to a concert. If anyone wants a good laugh, it was a silk purple tank top and I wore it with bright yellow shorts. Lord, the thing we used to wear in the name of fashion. umm umm um!

It was awesome! My first concert was The Cranberries about five years back...sure it was scary for me, being that it was so LOUD I felt that my eardrums were gonna burst! Plus a mosh pit was forming...and being a scared 11 or 12 year-old (can't remember), I'm sure my eyes were looking like this: ! But I had tons of fun! I love The Cranberries--too bad it seems like they're invisible now or something?

I grew upin the middle of nowhere, and the nearest big town was about 8 hours away. So I was in college before I wentt o my first concert. It was Restless Heart. I was a freshman in college. Then I have been to the Cranberries, Rush, Prince, Salt and Peppa, George Strait, Brooks and Dunn, and Robert Earl Keen (about 10 times, including last saturday. It was awesome.) Next friday I am going Rekless Kelly in Gruene. (This tiny town outside of New Braunfels, in the oldest dancehall in Texas. Really cool. Anyway, I am more for the smaller intimate type show, vs.the large concert. I am also way into the local music scene. Being this close to Austin (the live music capital of the world) we get all kinds of acts here too. Cool for me!

My 1st rock concert was a Michael Jackson concert back in 1984. I was 6 and slept through the whole thing. LOL. And like many of you I went to the NKOTB concert back in 1990, I couldn't talk for a week .

I went to Lollapalooza '96. It was about a month after I got my first car, and I had to drive to Indianapolis for the first time. My buddy and I had a blast. We saw the Ramones, Psychotica, Rancid, Metallica, and Waylon Jennings. Since then, I've been to 2 more festivals, X-Fest, where I've seen The Verve Pipe (sucked), STP, Everclear, Kottonmouth Kings, Powerman 5000, Wheatus, Kid Rock, and a few other bands I can't remember. I went and Saw Nine Inch Nails with A Perfect Cirlce last spring, and the Red Hot Chili Peppers with Foo Fighters too. My first concert would have been Bush, No Doubt, and Goo Goo Dolls, but I broke my leg 2 weeks before the concert in '96 and had to sell my ticket.

The first "real" concert I went to (other than at festivals) was Jimmy Buffett in December 1999.
Amazing. Simply amazing. So wonderful that I've considered going to concert locations nowhere near me. And bringing my mom (I've converted her over to the Parrothead side).
I know what you mean--amazing. I've seen Jimmy 6 times.

Well, my first concert was Celine Dion when I was 13! My best friend got tix for her b-day and took me. I rememeber we were both freaking out when she sang "Beauty and the Beast" as that was her big hit at the time!
I've also been to a few concerts (but like Sarah, hindered since I lived in NS up till 2 years ago!):Bon Jovi, Aerosmith, Barenaked Ladies, Rolling Rock Town Festival (starring Red Hot Chili Peppers), Edgefest, Boyz II Men and Luther Vandross, and I'm going to see Aerosmith again in Sept in Dallas...my sweetie's taking me!

amycat-- I LOVE violent femmes. They are by far the best concert I've even been to... Oh wow! I can't even explain how much I love their concerts. I truly believe that I can only get into my "groove" at certain concerts, and VF's are definately on the top of that list!
Anybody else dig Violent Femmes? Where has everybody seen them (as they are from my wonderful state of WI!)?

I LOVE the Violet Femmes! I have been a huge fan since I was 13!!! Ah, those were the days!
P.S. I'm a big music buff. I love all types of music, so I have an eclectic collection of c.d.'s. I just wanted to note that since I'm always saying how much I love such and such a band.

My first concert was in 1992 with Paula Abdul and Color Me Badd (whatever happened to them???). My first real concert (w/o the parents) was in 1996 with Pearl Jam. That was an awesome show!
