Sometimes people also take what is said on GC and move it into real life. For example, it would not be difficult to figure out who you are, and someone from a chapter you didn't speak highly of, etc. may try to make your life difficult, either on GC or in real life. This is obviously unfortunate, but it's reality.
We appreciate your honesty, but it's always best to use discretion!
Please continue your story - I'm looking forward to the ending!

I love the honest rush threads. They're an interesting read. It's so boring to constantly read, "The house was ok but just not for me" when you know that the girl really wants to say, "This house was terrible and I'd cry if I ended up with a bid here." Plus, most of us would be lying if we said that we didn't have some of the same thoughts as the OP when we went through rush.
ncse88, please tell us more.

I second loving honest rush threads. There's being honest with sensetivity and there's being brutally honest. She's not brutally honest.
I think we all need to take a step back, because people are entitled to their opinions and they are entitled not to like our chapters. It doesn't mean our particular chapters are bad at that school, it just means that that PNM didn't feel like she would fit in with our sisters. It's not that big of a deal, but we make it like it is. Just my opinion.
ncse88: I really hope you decide to continue your story and if you decide not to post it online, I would definately love to continue hearing it via private messages. Your honesty is invigorating

I wouldn't bother finishing the story if I were her...she's probably scared to death! Like nobody is entitled to an opinion!

It's also not hard to figure out each of the houses if you're familiar with the campus. Should you post your "opinions" if you are dead wrong about the supposed "reputations"?
ETA: It's very easy to piece together who is who during recruitment through their GC posts, i.e. which PNM is so-and-so.

So who cares if you can figure it out? Really, is it THAT big a deal to know what school she's talking about? From what i've read she hasn't said anything bad about any of the sororities, yes she has her opinions and she's entitled to it. Did you go through Rush and say that every chapter was great and you had the most awesome conversations? Probably not.

Great, so you figured out the houses. You want a cookie for that?
And YES, you should post your opinions even if you're dead wrong about the reputations! PNMs usually realize that their perceptions were wrong by the end of Recruitment. And so what if they don't? It's their life.

A-FREAKING-MEN! The whole point of this forum on GC is for PNMs to share a story and tell us what they're feeling while they're going through recruitment. If what he or she happens to be feeling is "oh my lord, I can't stand to be in this house another minute" or "wow, that girl's shoes are heinous" or "this is the best conversation I've had with a complete stranger ever" it doesn't matter - let 'em write it down! There are warnings all over the place about discretion and tact, so quit saying it, they get the point by now! If all someone is going to do is come in to the RS forum and tell the PNMs that it's just obvious where they are and how it's "clearly" going to ruin their entire rush then get the heck out and let the rest of us who enjoy reading a good story and don't plan on calling a chapter at her school to say "there's a girl rushing who thinks you have bad shoes" do so in peace!

NCSE88...I hope you decide to continue your story. I think that every PNM is entitled to her own opinion about each chapter. If I was in one of these chapters, I'd take your comments as constructive criticism. Not everyone is going to feel comfortable at the same chapters at which I am comfortable, so I don't get offended if they aren't. I thought you explained yourself very well. I was glad to see that you were able to see past the rumors you heard before recruitment. Let's face it...there are rumors about chapters that PNMs hear. You did a great job making your own mind up about the chapters. I want to know how it ended for you!
