Have any members of these groups heard anything?
I haven't heard anything, but I'll keep an eye out for info.

I thought that too, Tom. It will be interesting to see who ends up there.

Alpha Sigma Tau has two chapters active in the state: Uni. of Central Arkansas and Henderson State University.
Delta Gamma had a chapter at Arkansas, but it closed in the 90's. (I dated a DG from there.)
Gamma Phi Beta to my knowledge has never had a chapter in Arkansas. SmartBlonde would know more about that than me.
Zeta Tau Alpha currently has chapters at Arkansas and Arkansas Tech. They had a chapter at Arkansas State that closed in '91. I was a good friend of many of the girls at the ASU chapter. The Greek Life office screwed them over in many different ways, that's what hurt them. Don't get me started.

Kappa Alpha has chapters at Arkansas and Arkansas State.
Sigma Nu has chapters at Arkansas and Univ. of Central Arkansas.
Kappa Sigma has had a chapter at Arkansas for years and has new chapters at Arkansas Tech and Univ. of Central Arkansas. They tried to colonize at Arkansas State, but the colony folded after one semester. I'm not sure why.

Whoever ends up there, I wish them the best of luck.

KA got kicked off at Arkansas before rush started this year. To my knowledge Kappa Sigma at UCA is still around, they took in terms of numbers and not people.

Thumbs up

LaneSig, DITTO that.

It is always nice to see Greeks expand!

We as Greek Organizations always have to pick and choose where we will expand for many reasons.

As far as I know we haven't either.

According to the latest NPC Bulletin, Gamma Phi Beta and Delta Gamma will be colonizing in 2007.

Question

2007? Was that a misprint? Or does that mean that AST and ZTA will colonize in Fall on 2006 and then DG and Gamma Phi will come on to the campus the next year? Or maybe UAFS is going to wait and colonize in Spring '07 like UT Tyler did this past year. There are way too many questions going on in my head. I have checked the UAFS website, but they haven't made any announcements yet. Likewise, KA and Sigma Nu websites aren't saying anything. Kappa Sig website has had an announcement of a colony up since March or April, before UAFS said they would be sending out invites to colonize. Is the Kappa Sig colony a fact or wishful thinking? Will I stop asking rhetorical questions and ask questions that we know can be answered?

What is amazing for Me and I am sure to all, Most IHQs dont post anything about expansion and We have to find all of this out on GC!

Funny, many HQs. also find out a lot on GC!

So, I guess many on here are more in the know than Most of our Brothers and Sisters are!

It would be nice if the supposition card is not played, but let Us know what the heck is going on I Our Own Greek Organizations.

Is any body Out there with ears on, 10-04?

The SN website not saying anything is meaningless. The chapter listing/expansion parts of the site are not anywhere close to up-to-the-second. They're not too bad though.

I assume it means they are waiting until Spring 2007 which tells me they will be doing deferred recruitment since Spring 2007 is spring recruitment for next school year. That allows the organizations to spend Fall semester getting the word out about the groups, and sorority life in general and makes much more sense to me than having it all of a sudden when school starts back up in the Fall.

The same Bulletin says nothing about any other group colonizing at any time.

Spring 2007 is only a year from now and is the next school year....

Perhaps the 2 groups will colonize & install in the spring & then do a Fall Recruitment in the following semester with their 2 brand new chapters.

SmartBlonde- In my haste to post all of the questions I forgot to thank you for supplying the info about which groups were colonizing. Thank you for being on top of it and getting us the information.

I also forgot to say congratulations to Delta Gamma and Gamma Phi Beta. Both are fantastic groups and will make a great start for Greek Life at UAFS. Double congrats to Gamma Phi Beta for establishing their first chapter in the state of Arkansas. Congrats to Delta Gamma for re-establishing their presence in Arkansas.

There was a Phi Mu chapter chartered in 1977 at Tech. I don't know when it closed.
