Me, too. (I love Anne Shirley. ) That makes more sense. I also think there are more than one out there, as opposed to the whole only-one-"soul mate"-for-every-person thing.

Partner
So I'm still dating this girl. I brought up this topic at dinner and she said that she hadn't even talked to the guy in almost a year. I guess everything is ok.

Since I tend to be on the jealous side, I would find this uncomfortable just because I would want my partner to have that kind of connection with me instead of a friend of the opposite sex, but the thing is, those kinds of relationships don't necessarily translate to the best love matches. I've met guys before that I've gotten along with like no other, and we had so much in common it was scary, but they made better friends than boyfriends. Who wants to date someone who's a version of yourself?
If I were you, I would only get riled up if she gives her friendship with this guy higher priority than your relationship, all that "soul mate" crap be damned.

I agree.

I know bro.
It's like the movie "Say Anything".
You know the line, " I gave her my heart and she gave me a pen" ?
Well. With dani, I give her my heart and she deletes my post.
But it is all good. I listen to Journey. I won't stop believing.

If it's been about a year since she's had contact with this guy and she's still mentions him in the present tense, you need to move on. She's not over him.

Yeah I keep telling myself I should probably jump ship but I guess in the back of my mind I'm just seeing where this all goes for just a little bit longer.

I hadn't realize I was singing that loud, until some girl started laughing at me. I ripped out my earphones and she said she liked "Deathcab for cutie". But my ears were still ringing because the ipod was so loud, that I thought she said " Death to you cutie".
I gave her the "what the F are yo utalkin about" look. And went away. It was only later that I realized what she said.
Oh, and I don't believe in soul mates. I believe in voodoo though

You crack me up!
And poster... I agree. While I relate to having close guy friends, my best friend is my boyfriend of three years... I'd say look out. She sounds like she is just afraid of rejection, like if they broke up... so she will probably regret not dating him at some point. And you don't want a girl who is going to have a psychological affair.

You're probably right. In the long run I don't know that I'll feel comfortable. Thanks for all the encouragement and pointers! I will keep you all posted.
