Hey Rosanna
I've been meaning to post this for days, but last week I met a Zeta from U of H that works at the Gap up here at the mall. I told her I knew someone who was planning on rushing & to look out for you! She seemed really nice, but meeting her was proof that sororites are different on each campus..I wouldn't have guessed Talk to you soon

Hey Q-T pie
How are things going? I'm a zeta at Valdosta State, (in Georgia) So it's not close to SHSU but that is alright. So you had fun at your first dinner at the Zeta house? Well good luck going through rush!

Hey Zeta_Girl
Things down here are going great! I had such a blast at the dinner, but was sadly unable to make it to the second one. The girl that invited me couldn't make it, but I still had so much fun at the one I attended. I am so glad to finally have more than one gal friend I love ya'lls site by the way, and was surprised that Valdosta doesn't have many sororites (just like Sam!) So what made you choose ZTA? I was just wondering what made you KNOW that Zeta is where you belong. Talk to you soon.

Allison

Q-T Pie-
It's actually an interesting story on why I chose Zeta. It started my senior year in high school. My boyfriend's older brother brought a girl home with him who he was dating (his older brother was attending the college that I'd be at in the fall). I met this girl and she happened to be a Zeta. She told me all this great stuff about Zeta and why I had to join. So, when recruitment came around, I already knew what sorority I wanted to be in. Also, that summer, a girl I worked with was also a Zeta at my college and my freshman orientation leader was a Zeta. These girls helped me see how awesome Zeta is. Oh, an interesting little tidbit for you: the girl who my boyfriend's older brother was dating is now my big sister.

Hey Q-Tpie
Yeah we (in valdosta) do not have many sororities. Well to answer your quiestion " Why did I join Zeta" well when I was going through rush, and went to ZTA's parties, all the girls seemed to be "real" I am Not trashing any other soroities, but the zeta girls seemed that they weren't putting on a show. The way I looked at it, I wanted to join a group that didn't put up a front. The girls were really staight forward. I remember the day that I knew Zeta was for me, durring skit day of rush, at the end the girls sang a real sweet song while holding hands with one another, They all begain to cry. The song was about true sisterhood. From that moment on I knew I wanted to be a zeta tau alpha.
I'll talk to you soon.

Hey, Q-T Pie! I'm glad to hear that you're psyched about fall rush--and I hope you get your top choice! Sometimes these things really do work out for the best!

Zeta Girl--our family drove through the Valdosta campus last month to show our daughter the awesome Spanish architecture and get her even more excited about possibly going there--although no one was there at the time! She loved it and I showed her the sorority websites when we got home. Now she can't wait for fall 2002!

I am soo sorry you guys..Things have been beyond crazy and have kept me away from the board. Well, here goes my sad rush story. For some reason Sam Houston didn't have sign up for the sororities this semester like they did the fraternities, so basically it was a fend for yourself rush. This wasn't really a problem since I was going Zeta anyway. Well, I was called and invited to the first dinner, but showed up about 20 minutes late because of a traffic accident. I got there in time to eat & do the circle introduction, but my friend forgot to get me to fill out an info sheet. I wasn't able to meet as many girls as last semester, but still had a nice time. I was told about the next party, but because of complications I got a really messed up schedule and have to take night classes. I wasn't able to make it to the 2nd rush party & since I hadn't filled out an info sheet, I wasn't called for the next dinner & then wasn't able to go to the last bowling party. When my friend called me, we talked for a while about everything that had happened and about my money situation, and how I'm in the process of moving & just how messed up my schedule was. She said that eventhough I've been waiting so long to rush she really suggested that I wait until the fall. She said that if I wait then I could go out with the girls & meet them all & meet girls from other sororities just to make sure that Zeta is for me. Eventhough this isn't exactly what I wanted, I suppose this happened for a reason. So sadly I didn't get to join, but I am still excited about having a semester to meet everyone & to get everything worked out. Sorry again for not being on the board for so long. I hope to chat with ya'll soon & thanks for asking about me
Allison

Hi Everyone
I am so sorry for not being on the board for a while. I have been so busy with work & school that I rarely find the time to check e-mail let alone the board. Well, so much has happened since I was last on. I did go through rush (sort of). Because of a few mix ups I didn't know about a few parties & others conflicted with my class schedule. Since I had so many problems when transfering I got a really bad schedule & if I was to pledge I wouldn't be able to make the meetings at all. All of that plus my moving around & just having alot of transition things to take care of really made it hard. I had a long talk with a good friend & one of the first Zeta's I met & we decided that I should wait until the fall. It was a really hard decision since I've been working on this for over a year, but I finally did decide to wait. There was only 1 or 2 slots open (I'm not sure what they're called) & because of all the problems, it would have been hard for me to get a bid. By this summer I will be living up there & have everything in order. I can't wait!! I was unsure for a while, but after the wait I've decided to go for it. I know this happened for a reason & am thankful for the time. Well sorry to go on so long, but thanks for asking!! Hope to talk to ya'll soon & nice to see new blood on the board Sweetie Pie.
Allison
