I don't think it's definite it will close...it just sounds like the owners want to get out of the business.

Maybe, all the Pittsburgh GCer's should get together and buy the place. So that way the rest of us can get a special GC discount the next time we're in Pittsburgh.

Question

If they want to get out of the Bus. why dont they want to give up the Logos and Tags?

If they dont, it will be just another greasy dog joint or less!

Tom - the guys who are selling are just selling the rights to the name Original Hot Dog Shop, the concept, the recipes blah blah. They don't own the physical building nor is it for sale.

Tom, this is definitely a case in point of "location, location, location"! It is well within stumbling distance to at least 8 dorms, to say nothing of all the apartments nearby. The home plate from Forbes Field is less than a block away. The closing of the O would definitely be, in the eyes of anyone from Pitt, CMU, Duquesne, and Pittsburgh in general, catastrophic! We're talking MAJOR LANDMARK here!!

Ah Yes, the Old Location, Location is Prime!

We have the :1106: in My "THE PITT"!

Great Tenders, Burgers, and Curly Fries! The same today as Years ago. A National Treasure!

Was across from Our First House, thank goodness.

Hope for The Other Pittsburg"H"ers, it can be saved!

yup! a very fine Pittsburgh institution much like Primanti Bros. (great sandwiches) and other long gone features like Corleone's Pizza.

I hope they retain the name, food quality and service. It'd be a shame to see the "O" go into Oblivion.

later,

We loved that place! It was always worth the trip down the street. I cannot believe another buyer/owner isn't interested. Oh well, make room for another Starbucks.
