I've had a great past few days.
I sat with a chapter founder/AI at Feast of Roses and she told some really wonderful stories about her life in the past eighty five years. She is absolutely hysterical and has lived in Idaho for over fifty years but still has her Georgia accent. I'm sure some of you big squirrels have heard stories about her, and Maria has heard me retell a story using an accent. She is going to get the AGR house mother to screen men with her so I can find a suitable husband :P .One really great part was when a chapter advisor and the current president told us the differences between now and then, such as clothing, lunch hour, and curfew. Can anyone imagine not being allowed to wear pants unless it was below zero and the Dean of Women gave the okay? I also helped chaperone the Initiation dance Saturday night, and the girls have made such an effort to include me and get to know me.
I've been doing all kinds of other busy work to help out, like folding tablecloths or napkins for professor dinner, but we always have fun and the tasks aren't unpleasant because we're being silly and having a good time.
I have to attack my mountain of laundry now, I haven't stopped going since Friday morning.

Congrats Annie... I am so glad to see an AI so involved. We had AIs initiate when my chapter opened and never heard or saw them again. Congrats!

I'm not going anywhere for the next few years. I offered to get Junior Circle going which I think is going to be a blast. We have two chapters less than 10 miles away from each other so there are plenty of women to get involved. I talked to a lovely sister at IHQ, and her roommate from school is now working up near Spokane so we've talked about going up there for a shopping or travelling Broadway show and meeting up with her. I'm going to make sure she gets an invitation to IRD. Our first event is going to be brunch on a weekend before everyone leaves for the Christmas/New Year holidays. Hopefully it will get more women involved in different aspects of post-college life in AGD and increase interraction among the collegiate and alumnae chapters, junior circle, and across the ID-WA border.

Yes indeed we do. I got another look at your composite picture right before Initiation, rocking 90's hairdo! I really hope you can make it for IRD. They've redone the really hideous TLC building and it no longer has the gross open walkways and concrete ugliness, so you have that to look forward to.

So...uhhh...how far down the stairs into the study (now the TV room) are my composites?? LOL BIG HAIR ROCKS
When is DT's 50 year coming up? I know it is soon. The 100 year celebration (spring '04?) was a good dry run for DT to start to gather information.
I enjoyed your story about sitting next to our dear house asscn. adviser. I have always LOVED her--she rocks!
I think we are going to try and bring the kids over next year for the BSU/IDAHO game or Homecoming. Things just get so overwhelming with my kids and their sports.

Ha! At least I know which Megan you are, which is not easy for some alums unless they have the composite handy. You should head over to the Greek Life forum and talk about your personal experiences with Team Porch Bed as I don't think I did the porch justice.
