for those of you who think this is all wonderful... would you have the same opinion if it was a old man who had molested a female child?

And to say that those of us who think this is wrong are hatin' because we're not engaged... umm... no. That's the same logic that people used and said that those of us who don't really care for Britney Spears (for example) are just jealous b/c she's so beautiful/talented/etc.

Sorry if I have moral issues with this. Has nothing to do with my, or any other poster's, marital status.

However, if you're so interested in the marital status of others here in GC, I'll let you know that I am engaged. Wedding date is December 2nd. Just found the dream dress yesterday too! First one I found & the first one I tried on. I have already booked a place too!

Holy shit you missed the point of el munch's post

On a separate note, I honestly couldn't care less about this, dudes - although I see where dani is coming from, even if the genders are reversed this comes down to two legal, consenting adults performing a legal action. She's paid her debt, and he's now well past 18. They might be total pieces of shit, sure - but pieces of shit get married every day.

God, I can't even imagine the threads when she has their next baby . . .

Lol, she's already had 2 to him, from when he was well underage.

Plus 4 from her first marriage (she was sleeping with him while still married!)

Yes, technically it's legal, but there's a lot of things that are technically legal that are still sorta sick. And if you're going to put yourself out there, you're in the public spotlight and are going to get some flack for it.

I do see where you're coming from - it's just no longer a moral issue for me. In fact (channeling James), in a lot of other situations, this would be considered the 'honorable' thing to do - it's an interesting study in temporal/situational differences in how things are viewed, for sure.

I just checked out weddingchannel.com - there used to be a guestbook for them on there, but it seems to have been taken down.

Most of their registry has been purchased @ Macy's, but their Crate&Barrel one has lots available.

And I also see that they have also registered at Tiffanys. That wasn't there when I saw the site last week.

!!!!

I'm sorry, but what are people like that doing registering at Tiffany's? I'm guessing that they're figuring random ass people across the US are buying them stuff, so why not see how stupid people can really be.....

What does "people like that" mean?

It's not as if Tiffany screens who registers--and anyone can do it online.

In response to what a few people asked...yes, at this point, it would be the same to me if the genders were reversed. Not only has MKL done her time, he was the one who requested that the no-contact order be lifted. Despite numerous attempts to separate the two, they still found a way to be together. Now that they're adults, there's nothing any of us can say about it.

Hell, I don't think it's "wonderful," in fact it's a little creepy, but I'm not stressing about it.

If they are getting married . . why did we put her in jail?

the law as really intended to protect younger people against predators not love interests . .

So all we did was take her away from her family for like 7 years.

See what happens when you legislate social situations?

This whole thing about the kid having sex with his teacher is bad, but it could have been much worse. He could have been home schooled.

i think it is kind of creepy. while i agree that when he was 12, this relationship was clearly a problem, but he is an adult now and can make his own decisions. i honestly feel more concern for their children and her children from her first marriage. what a crazy situation to grow up in!
