That seems to be true for either side of the spectrum.
And for the Ames angle: when I go running I turn onto a side street and there's a vehicle covered in stickers for every single Republican candidate and Christian-based stickers that is the same year, make and model as the vehicle a block further covered in stickers for every single Democrat candidate and Wiccan-based stickers. (1990 Dodge-Plymouth Caravan). The only difference: one is black-cherry while the other is a melancholy blue with faux wood paneling.

I limit myself to 3 pieces of "flare" lined across the bottom of my rear window- saves the paint, easy to remove when they fade or an election is over.
