As the thread name changes to Ben & Jerry's...!
I'm just wondering how you'd explain to your parents that you just accepted a bid from a sorority called "Chubby Hubby"!!
Hope you have a double dip of good luck during Recruitment!!

Go Phish Food, just because that's my favorite Ben & Jerry's flavor! I can't wait to see how much fun you have with all that ice cream.
Seriously, have a wonderful experience during your recruitment. Thanks for sharing with us.

Good luck and may you find the home that fits you perfectly.

This is the best description I have ever heard in advice to PNMs (or even PNAMs) on how to choose a GLO during recruitment. BIG reality check during times that are so staged and formal.
That is all.

How exciting! Best wishes on finding your home! I know everything will be awesome-- and we will definitely all go out (me, you, and Hannahgirl) after recruitment is over to hear all about it!

Best of luck with recruitment!
Did I read your schedule right? Your pref round begins at eight o'clock in the morning on a Sunday??! Why isn't it the night before? Just curious.

yeah, I don't know. And I'm not sure that's the correct time either. I have three different schedules floating around, so I'll have to get that cleared up at greek info tonight somehow. need to be there on time !! =)

I bet the 8am time is correct-- or close to it! At Akron Pref starts at 9:30am-- and then bid matching-- and then Bid Day!! Good Luck tonight-- let us know how it goes!

Yes, 8 am is right! We used to do it the day before and give out bids that Sunday. But Panhell decided to move it b/c having parties everyday that weekend is too much set up for all the chapters since 3rd and 4th parties are both held @ chapter houses. Also, this is the first year using ICS to match bids, so they're assuming it wont take very long to match bids which means we don't need a whole day after pref to do it. We'll see how it works.

As long as I've been in, we've always had Pref and Bid Day on the same day. That was also back when they used to do hand matching if I'm correct (Andrea - is that right?).
Its kind of nice in one aspect because you don't have to wait over night and you only have to call off one full day of work instead of two. But downsides include the early times and having all the downtime between pref and bid day when bid matching is going on.
Luckily over the years we've been starting the pref parties a little later so we have to be at the house at 8am instead of starting the parties at 8am. This year the parties start at 10:40 and end at 1:10. We're not expecting PNMs to go to their new houses until 5pm or so.
