Dang, CT4, you beat me to it!
I HATE it when folx send me emails and there is no sense of flow or structure to what they are saying and I have to reread it two and three times just to figure out what the general message they are trying to convey in their email. Matter of fact, I have had emails that are so bad (HOW BAD ARE THEY?!!), I will return the email to the sender and tell them that it is unreadable and that they need to rewrite, restructure, and resend it to me, because I will not read undecipherable incoherent emails.
I also hate it when folx reply to replys of replys--essentially you are getting one email with 15 previous email replys attached to it. Only include pertinent email correspondence with the original email. Or better yet, just start off with a fresh email.
I also hate chain emails also. I have noticed more women send them then men--please stop it.

attachements with viruses,
porno of any kind,
silly forwards about ghetto proms, overweight people, 9/11, or Osama Bin Laden,
chain letters of any kind, this includes the "love Jesus, your girl, friend, mama" emails,
emails about 10 cent ice cream at Ben and Jerry's,
any email containing a hoax of any kind,
e-mails/files that are extremely large. That *ish eats up my mailbox and prevents real mail from coming through,
"you go girl" poems, emails, or forwards. I don't need it or want it. I got my real girls for that stuff.
emails about business opportunities form a foreign country. I don't know these folks and they ain't getting my money.

Man, a guy here actually fell for one of those scams! But the worse part is, he started scamming other people to raise the money to send for that "Nigerian businessman" scam, and wound up getting scammed himself!!!

DO bookmark http://www.snopes.com - the Urban Legend Reference pages. Anytime you receive one in e-mail, it should be second nature to check this page.
DON'T send HTML e-mail. If I wanted a web page, I'd use my web browser. There's nothing you can say in HTML e-mail that can't be done in plain text. Besides, that background you chose? TACKY.
DON'T send attachments larger than 1 MB in size. Yeah, I know most of us have high speed internet, but that doesn't mean that we have huge mailboxes.
DON'T assume that everyone is on a PC! Stop sending me isht with . exe, .pif, .sca, and all those other crazy Windows extensions! Yeah, I know I have Virtual PC on my Mac - but you know, I refuse to open that stuff on GP.
DO learn to edit your quoted material. Most e-mail programs allow you to highlight what you want to quote before hitting 'reply'.
DO learn to read headers. That way you can find out who sent the original chain letter/blacks losing the right to vote/send a sick kid an e-mail message and bless them to high heaven.

AMEN! One of my best friends (God love her) does this all the time and it makes me so sick! It's the digital equivalent of that poster with the cat hanging from a branch that says "hang in there".
Ditto for those "devotional" e-mails. I don't think God belongs in my inbox.

Yet another "DON'T"
Maybe I only get these because I am in school...but please don't send me the "Get to know your friends better" emails with the 50 questions like:
What is the name that appears on your birth certificate?
What is your favorite food?
What is your favorite color? and etc.
If you are truly my girl and I value our friendship, then I will already know all of these things...Please don't send them to me because I don't have time to answer all those questions and besides, I have an old computer so it will probably stall before I have the chance to finish it.

This was cute in high school like the first time I got it but HOT DAYUM it is sooooo annoying now. I hate the Jesus chains absolutely hate them. Forwards of any kind. I have one friend who gets an "I told you bout them forwards" email every two months. Hated it....
I also post in a forum on whaddat.com based in JA. There is this one guy who posts like everyday and all he does is criticize the members of the board and the coordinators of the website. It's soooooo annoying, if you dont like the board LEAVE!

DO send me emails to say hi and how are doing and to keep in touch.
DO send me jokes, I might need to be humored at times!
DON'T send me emails trying to sell me Viagara or anything penis enlargement, hello I am a woman. While we are on that topic, DON'T send me emails selling stuff to increase my bust size.
DON'T send me emails telling me to check out your webcam. What you do in your place is your business. Keep me out of it.
DON'T send any viruses by stealing or borrowing a friend, sister or relative's email. I learned this the hard way and my dad had to put the old computer out of its misery.

Do NOT send the same email to all my email addresses. Once to one is sufficient thank you.
Jesus does not have a "did you forward my message list" so stop sending me stuff that has been out as long as the internet as been out.
Ditto on the warnings on viruses, hoaxes, spam...check out urban legends BEFORE sending it to me. And don't get mad when i send the link to you to say it is a hoax.
Use the subject line....unless we are having a convo on the DL and we have newsy folks that read others email while standing around (Beat it!)
If I am sending out info (non work related) and the list is Bcc, Don't ask me who I sent it to and our circles aren't the same. Don't worry bout it. You do your people.
Use Bcc, request message read/delivered options they are great!
Ditto on the million forwards and when I reply and ask you how are you doing, don't forward me more crap and never respond to my inquiry (my college roomate dammit!). You gets no more from me.
